Jack's Auto Repair - Edmonton

My vehicle had some differential issues. Called around for quotes. Jack seemed reasonable for the rates. Got quoted $800 for the job with 3 hours of labour included at $95 per hour. Got my vehicle towed as i didnt want to drive and make damage worse. Didnt look at the vehicle until 24 hours later and then quoted me $1870! More then double what i was told and didnt want to pay for another tow somewhere else hence why i called around for quotes before tow. Asked Jack how much the part was and he told me he found one for $1400! Thats insane for a used part with 133k on it. I called around and first place i found part for $997 and second ppace i found part for $650 with 103k on it. (Tried to make double off the part?) Paid for part and got it delivered to his shop. Called me back a day later and said it needed new seals.... of course it did for a job like this and any mechanic should know that... i told him to get the new seals as i knew they went for around $10 bucks each for each. Charged me $20 each and overpriced the differential fluid by over double! Had my vehicle for 4 days now for a job that was supposed to be 3 hours. Called him again and he said he was going to start on my vehicle sometime today and will be ready for tomorrow. Got upset and told him that i provided the part and got it to his shop and expected him to be done in a day and that im missing too much work. He called me 2 hours later telling me the vehicle is done. It was getting late that day and advised him i will be coming tomorrow morning to pick it up as i didnt have a ride that moment and he said no that i need to pick it up before he closes as he doesnt want to keep the vehicle in the shop and it is a bad area... ended up getting a cab there.. Guess it took him 2 hours to complete so just had to pay for his labour and seals. Found out he charged me for 4 hours of labour! Overpriced seals and also decided to add shop supplies in there too! For what? Was expecting to pay him $300-$350 MAX and ended up paying him almost $500! Not professional and tries to make money off you wherever he can. Saw good reviews on this place and was quoted something reasonable but it ended up being a lie. First and last time i will bring my vehicle here. Very disappointing Jack..

Why I give Jack and his team a 5 Star review. I got a new set of tires from a local "big box" tire shop. They gave me a list as long as my willy of things that "need repair". Now I'm not a rocket scientist, but some of the items seemed fishy. I went to Jack's, and gave them the list and said "fix any issues that are on this list". Not only did they call back with pricing before they started work on the car, they gave some recommendations on what to and what not to worry about. When I showed up to pick up my ride, they walked me through the work they did, showed me the faulty parts, and explained everything in great detail for me. They saved me almost $700 compared to the tire shop AND they fixed problems not even listed on my first invoice. Even the best mechanics make mistakes and miss things, but I have confidence in this shop, as they were detailed and straight-forward (and happy to walk me through things visually). Jack and his crew are first class, and I will be returning!!

Cheap and timely repair of automobiles.It has always a shortage of staff still you will never get disappointed.I will highly recommend to visit this place .

Very nice guy and the staffs are friendly too. He offered a quick service without any appointment and also affordable service. They are undergoing construction of their office space so no much space to sit but overall a great experience. Will come back again.....

Just don’t go here unless you wanna leave you car for indefinite time or days. I came here for a service and Jack checked the car, he said he can fix and will order parts, but I have to pay upfront. I did pay it and came in for service next day, he lifted and start working on it, halfway he said that I have to leave the car for a day, I said that is not what we agreed on, and he said he will continue and finish today, I waited for two hours while he was dealing with other customers and some tire replacement. And then he came to me and said that things may get said ways or the parts may not fit in, I said well you checked and and order the parts. That was not reassuring!!! He kept saying things may not work or not fit, I decided I will not go through this and that I need my money back. He said ok, and he paid me back he said that he cut some clamps and they the muffler is secure. Bad experience overall.

Great experience with Jack! Restored the beauty of my Lincoln and fixed my suspension issue. I wouldn't trust any other mechanics too many liars out there. Thanks to Jack and his amazing team

I never need to worry about this shop trying to scam or overcharge me. The owner Is very honest and trustworthy. He and his team always do a great job and I never have any issues with them. I give them 5 stars and highly recommend for my friends!
