If you are in the Courtney / Comox area, this is the team to go with. You know you have the right guides when everyone you meet in Courtney who finds out your were fishing asks if you were with Steve's crew. We had Chris as our guide and he was absolutely great. He had a keen instinct on hooking fish (we were able to land 9 chinook including a 25 pound hog that we released) and was a great source to learn about the area. The boat was very clean and comfortable and my wife was happy that they had a 'real' toilet. There are a lot of fly by night guides, but these guys are the real deal - cannot wait to go again!!

I'll start with a matter of safety. Every commercial marine vessel I've ever been on board has started their journey with a safety briefing...not the case here. If you don't ask about safety equipment (life jackets in particular), no one is going to offer it. Departure was prompt with no time wasted at the dock (partially because there wasn't a safety briefing), but partially because the charter captain (Chris) didn't bother to introduce himself or bother to ask our names. Once underway, Chris was very conversational and engaging, but I'm not sure he ever knew his guests. This experience was the focal point of our 3 day trip from the US to Canada. It had been postponed for a year due to Covid and our family of 5 had been looking forward to it since the border re-opened. Needless to say, we were sorely disappointed. After 5 hours boating back and forth along the same patch of water, we ended up with zero fish.....nothing....nada...zip....zero. For 5 hours, we never tried a different location and there never seemed to be a sense of urgency to try and find fish. This is despite the glowing fishing reports that we kept getting from Steve the week leading up to our trip. Similar success stories adorn their website, I wouldn't believe any of the reports on the website. We were not alone, the other group that was out at the same time as us came back with a ziplock back worth of fish. This was the most expensive fish I never caught. $600+ for a 5 hour boat ride, overnight accommodations, ferry to/from Vancouver and meals.....easily a $!,000+ mistake. My advice to anyone looking for a salmon fishing experience, look for an owner that will put their money behind customer satisfaction. If you spend 5+ hours on a boat crewed by a "professional" and you come up empty, common sense would suggest you offer your patrons a discount or refund. At the very least, an apology for a bad day on the water. We got neither. I would not recommend Island Pursuit and suggest you look elsewhere.

I booked the 5hr trip for a fathers Day gift for me and my dad. We had a blast. Chris was a great guide, super knowledgeable, and great to spend time with. We came back with 3 good size salmon (I lost the 4th one). I couldn't have asked for a better trip out.

Best family experience ever! Steve is very patient and explains what’s going on very clearly for the first time fisher. Brought the wife and daughter for their first trip in a boat and it was amazing. As soon as the lines were in the water it was nonstop action with so many species being caught. His knowledge and stories of the area were an added treat as were the eagles and whales he showed us. Definitely recommend Island Pursuit Sport Fishing!

Went with Steve again this year, We drove back and forth over the same patch of water all day and listened to music. We enjoyed the sun, the company, laughed, saw lots of whales, some dolphins and caught and released and kept many fish and had so much fun doing it. Thank you so much for the awesome day.

We were out fishing with Steven today and had a great time. The weather was a bit choppy at first but he found us some calm waters and within 10 minutes of fishing we were into our first double header. 2 chinook, 1 about 15lb and one over 20 into the boat to start the day. From there on it was steady salmon fishing until the end of our trip. Super clean boat and lots of stories to tell.

Went fishing with these guys end of September. For being at the end of high season we had pretty good fishing. Went out one day with Chris and one day with Steve both very knowledgeable and had an awesome time. Fishing was slow at times but both guides managed to get us on the fish. Highly recommend this crew if fishing out of comox. Can't wait to go again.

Our staff went out for an afternoon of fishing & we had a great time, our guide was knowledgeable & personable. Plus he might be a fish whisperer because we had great luck on our afternoon excursion! Thanks Island Pursuit!
