★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For people who want to join IBEW 2085 do not.
First Part:
Why if you do not have to money to join which is just over $10,000 and you can pay half, then next half later. But if you go to Manitoba student aid they will not do it, so I asked IBEW 2085 to help me they will not. Tried to ask the needy gritty questions they answer but not fully answer.
Second Part:
What they are looking for is book smarts, they are not looking for someone who need to redo the levels a couple of times. They want someone who does it once every time right but how to you learn from your mistakes if every time is done right ?
Third Part:
When you try and ask certain questions they do not what to say too much on it. Also they over teach way too much in a short window, you do not get the books they keep them but you need them for the next level and if you do something wrong then your on a perma waiting list and if you say no to a job you go down to the bottom of the waiting list.
I voided this, went to Red River College and some of my classmates were not so lucky.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ not very stable. Be prepared to not work half the time when you become a journeyman. They want cheap labour apprentices then throw you on the pile. I would not recommend this unless you want to compete forever with 2000 other journeyman for even a little bit of work and a sore back for retirement! Stay Away
