The ITA has improved its delivery of service immensely in the last year or so. I manage our apprentices and have found this to be the case consistently as of late. Response times to register new apprentices or update workplace hours take anywhere between minutes and a few days which i find excellent.

First agent I talked to basically blamed me for my employer not submitting my hours. Where is the accountability of employers? They wouldn't even look at the evidence I said I had. I have so many emails pertaining to it. Yet nothing. I didn't know apprentices had to submit their own hours. What does the ita actually do???

I have been a red seal millwright for 15 years now , my younger brother was my apprentice 10 years ago and thanks to ita and now my oldest son is registered as my apprentice for the millwright program. I am grateful to ita for the training and support and for seeing it come full circle. Thank ita .

My experience with the ITA through two Red Seal apprenticeships has been excellent. For those who are truly invested in accumulating skill & knowledge, the Canadian Red Seal system is an incredible opportunity to broaden employment options. My apprenticeship advisor has been prompt, professional, and helpful along the journey. When I've called the ITA with questions, the folks who answer the phone have always been able to steer me in the right direction. I'm grateful for the career opportunities afforded by the apprenticeships I've completed, and I'm grateful for the ITA Apprenticeship Advisors who help make it all happen. Best of luck to all apprentices who are pursing excellence in your crafts.

Absolutely terrible! I did not think replacing a logbook would be SO difficult and stressful. I have spent so many of my lunch breaks being on hold with ITA as customer #1 in que and when I finally got through to someone, I was told that I myself could not go to the door, call them and pick up my logbook at the front door due to covid. However a courier can??

Concerning that they cannot confirm whether a tradesperson is actually licensed in BC unless you already have proof the person's licensed by way of their certificate number - seems set up to allow unlicensed fraudsters to work freely. Bafflingly, they referred me to Better Business Bureau when I suggested I wanted to look into whether a person was working unlicensed or not.

Extremely out of touch. They don’t communicate with the colleges and the training institutions to create a better course the exam is nothing like the course I’ve been waiting over two weeks for my marks and they’re not even in the system yet it’s a disgrace it’s a disgrace it’s a disgrace it’s a disgrace. We don’t really need the ITA the colleges should be allowed to hand out the red seal upon completion of the course.

The top three people persons of the ITA of B.C make well over $100k per year and they do nothing for it, an audit is in order for the misappropriation of tax payers monies, when’s the last time the ITA went around and made sure apprentice’s were doing well? Not in the last 30 years since indentured apprenticeship ended. So no need for the ITA.
