Éric Lafargue as President

President, Chairman of the Board

Éric Lafargue is a graduate of ENSG Nancy (French National School of Geology in Nancy) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs (ENSPM, now IFP School). In 1986, he joined IFPEN’s Geology-Geochemistry Division where he led various R&D projects relating to oil formation and its accumulation in fields. From 1998 to 2002, he was seconded to the French Ministry of Industry (Oil and Gas Department) where he was specifically responsible for monitoring companies in the French oil-related sector. He also managed the French Oil and Gas Sector Support Fund.
In 2002, he joined IFPEN’s Industrial Development Business Unit, where he was responsible for managing the portfolio of subsidiaries and stakeholdings. He was made Deputy Director in 2007, then Director in 2009.
Since 2017, Éric Lafargue has been Executive Vice-President responsible for industrial development, subsidiary management and legal, economic and financial affairs.

Eric Delamaide, P.Eng. is a reservoir engineer, with 25 years of experience. He is currently General Manager of IFP Technologies (Canada) Inc. in Calgary as well as the Manager EOR, Americas for the EOR Alliance. He specializes in EOR and heavy oil. Eric has worked on projects (including 13 polymer floods) in 24 countries worldwide. Eric has a degree in chemical engineering from the School of Mines in Saint Etienne, and a masters in Petroleum Engineering from the IFP School, both in France. He has published over 40 papers on reservoir engineering and EOR and has served on multiple conference technical committees. He is an Associate Editor for the SPE Reservoir Engineering Journal and Editor for the SPE Journal and the Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering. In 2014 he received an award for outstanding services as Technical Editor for SPE Reservoir Evaluation & Engineering.

Tristan Euzen, PhD., P.Geol. linkedin

Geoscience Manager

Tristan Euzen holds a PhD in Earth Science from the University of Rennes (France) and is a Petroleum Geologist with over 25 years of research and consulting experience. From 1996 to 2007, his research at the Geology-Geochemistry Division of IFPEN focused on geological characterization and modeling workflows from basin to reservoir scales, using subsurface and outcrop data. Tristan joined IFP-Canada in 2007, where he now develops and oversees collaborations, research and consulting activities in Geoscience. In the past decade, most of his activity has been focused on understanding geological controls on the distribution of rock and fluid properties to optimize the sustainable and efficient development of unconventional oil and gas resources. Tristan is actively volunteering in conference committees and as a guest editor and has received technical awards from the SEPM, AAPG, GeoConvention and SPE.
