★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We don't usually post reviews but we felt we had to on this occasion. We contacted HRC about cottage insurance about a month ago. We needed basic cottage insurance for a rustic place until we rebuilt a new cottage. So we were looking for a partner in insuring the old but taking us through builders insurance to the new cottage insurance. At first, the broker I dealt with was extremely responsive and gave me a quote in days. Based on that, we booked a meeting with our lawyer to legally turn over the cottage from another relative. The day of the legal meeting, the broker called to say the insurance company had not yet approved the quote and it would take a few more days. We said okay and cancelled the meeting with the lawyer and waited. Since that day, we are still waiting (actually, we're not....we went to someone else). Through multiple email inquiries, left voicemails, talking to reception, that broker has never called us back. We decided on having my wife phone just in case I had done something to tick him off. Same conclusion. No email returns, no phone calls. All we were looking for was an update, even if the update was we can't insure you. It is very unprofessional to not call back, even if the news may not be good. Anyway, we are very happy with the insurance broker we ended up doing business with but we just felt this needed to be known as HRC usually has a great reputation.
