Hey, remember the 80's? We do. That's when we opened the store. During the "cold war" - the most destructive waste of money and human ingenuity in modern times - well probably ever. Change the economy, that's all we have to do. Change it from profit being generated from child labour and pollution and war manufacture to one of fairness, sustainable manufacture and a focus on peace, building high speed trains instead of ICBMs, (Inter-continental ballistic missiles).
Our store is our attempt to achieve this transition to a new economy. Every dollar you spend is a vote for the society you want to see, let's vote fairness, let's vote peace, let's vote hope. Your polling booth is open.

โ โ โ โ โ Don't miss this! My new favorite store. Sadly, I've driven past Humboidt's for years without ever stopping....until yesterday...half an hour before close. Kris' store is full of exquisite ethically sourced clothing from companies like LNFB, Pategonia and Royal Robbins. I'm not a big shopper but I walked out with 4 clothing pieces...items that will be investment pieces, costing pennies a day because I know I'll be wearing them for years to come. The store is chock full of other items: toiletries, toys, household items, and apparently pickerel that are all kinder for the planet. I plan to come back soon just not 30 minutes before closing time! Thanks for staying open for me Kris! (If you found this review hslepful this review, give it a like!)

โ โ โ โ โ Love this place! I started getting some wildflower plugs this spring and since i dont drive this makes my life so nuch easier! I also buy soap there and qfew other essentials. Its a small business with a conscience, and great products.

โ โ โ โ โ Lots of sustainable products and quite a few useful things for my kitchen to reduce waste. Picked up a few small things.
The staff wasn't very friendly or helpful, we weren't greeted when we entered the store and not once did they ask if we needed help finding anything. I was also disappointed with the size selection of the Patagonia fleeces. I'd hoped to snap one up!

โ โ โ โ โ Love this store! Best Kid's clothes and toys and both Men's and Women's clothes- organic, fairtrade and local. Lots of other cool stuff too, and a small grocery at the back with grass fed meat / cheese and local milk. Best selection of wool socks I have seen in the city and my favorite place to visit....?
