Don't ever get a mortgage with Hamilton branch. Can't get answers. Lack of management. I had to go to a branch outside of Hamilton to get answers.

Long story short, because of timing and delay this bank cost me thousands when trying to renew my mortgage with them when they advertised 2.39%. Should of just stay with RBC and took the 2.59% renewal. It took almost 3 weeks to hear back and got declined and rate had just gone up to 2.94%.

All covid rules were followed. We needed help to transfer funds from HSBC Canada to HSBC UK, plus handling a UK Power of Attorney between my husband in Canada and his sister in the UK. Nicolina Gualtieri handled all for us, she was patient, explained everything well and completed quite quickly. We appreciated and rather enjoyed our experience with this branch.

Im power of attorney for my Grandmother this bank has the proper documents yet if I call the help line they have no record of me and can not fix the problem I have. My Grandmother has a savings account that we wanted to use for nursing home but because according them it wasn't being used they deactivated it. Now a week later still have no access. This customer service is unacceptable!

they lock the doors to the ATM machines at night. Nobody can access the ATMs at night so no late night banking :( there are some homeless people which I understand. Donโ€™t come here if you need to do banking late night .

Had a first time meeting with my premier relationship manager, Anna, everything I needed to know was answered in a friendly ,professional manner. She showed a lot of patience with my ill informed questions! Had dealings with other staff members also, all good. I left a lot better informed than when I entered, a pleasant experience, unlike some other banks locally. Unfortunately only one branch in Hamilton, downtown, but that's not their fault.

I understand this is COVID and we're limited on what we can accomplish in person; however I question the communication skills this branch possess when they instruct a customer on the phone to come into the branch live - only to then tell the live in branch customer about a necessary online application and live branch service is by appointment only. Seems this could have been communicated on the phone saving a customer valuable resources and frustrations. Pros: The best lending rates in the country. The ability to smile while completely disregarding another human's time. Cons: An inability to express current protocols to customers. Complete lack of parking. Inaccessible location. Any assemblage of customer service.
