K	Katriona McColl on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today my acquaintances went on a jolly visit to our small town farmers' market. Upon finishing our civil duties canvassing at the market, we telephoned for taxi services. We received a call a few minutes later stating our taxi was pulling up in a minute. After waiting ten minutes, we called back to learn the taxi had not found us, and left the market. We humbly requested another taxi and waited another 20 minutes. As we called back for the third time, they said the taxi had left once again. Now dear friends, we know the taxi service had our telephone number. Case and point: the courtesy call saying they were a minute away. Why, we must ask ourselves, would they not call to ask where we were? In fact, when we ordered our third taxi, they asked if we were the same people who had called a couple times already. Do not get me wrong - the man who picked us up was lovely. A charming old gentleman, not unlike an older version of the Cash Cab man. Although he did not ask us trivia questions, it was understood that a love of trivia was likely in his heart, as we could hear through his soft chuckle and questions of small talk. Our real problem with Howe Sound Taxi was everything else. Would not recommend 0/10 felt very abandoned and a little hurt that they kept leaving us? like what who does that

D	D Weatherbee-Brown on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Edit: I'd like to retract this statement made about a week ago. Tonight I was made to wait 30 minutes in the cold rain on a Monday night. When I called the dispatch lady she was very rude in her tone and tried to convince me I wasn't at my desired pick up when the driver arrived. If only she had known I was at my workplace and already off/outside looking for a ride home when I made the initial call at 9:24pm; therefore it was physically impossible for me to miss the cab. I will say the drivers are friendly, and they do deserve a tip for their service, despite not being very timely. After looking at other reviews it seems this is typical of this business. My pick up ended up arriving at 9:54pm, minutes before I almost called to cancel and take public transit instead. DO NOT use Howe Sound Taxi if you are in a hurry, they operate on their own clock and at their own will, which is fine for a business to carry itself in this way, however customers take this warning. Original Post: Was driven home by a friendly driver, good conversation, better rate than quoted on the phone. Even was ok with me rescheduling my cab for a pick up 30 mins later as I had forgotten about an errand. Other reviewers sound impatient and over exaggerated, walking is always an option if you can't wait for someone to come get you!
a	aleks wallner on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am posting this because it deserves to be known. My friend is in fact disabled and was REFUSED service because of it. I am appauled. "I tried calling Howe Sound Taxi for a ride home from work. I was connected with a dispatcher who proceeded to tell me I was drunk and he will not send a cab. I tried to explain that I have cerebral palsy and because of that I have a speech impairment. He then told me that I am lying and that I was hammered. I tried to ask to talk to a supervisor and was given "I am the supervisor, you can't go over my head." It's been a while since I've been discriminated like that. I'm completely amazed that this happened.
K	Kristin Johnson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly drivers who are tolerant of ignorant tourist like ourselves who don’t often use cabs. We had to call cabs to our locations and the operators were friendly and helpful while the drivers showed up quickly and took fast routes. We were having so much fun with a driver he forgot to start the meter and was going to just charge us for half the ride. Great service, would highly recommend!

B	Brendan Byrne on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Last week, we were stranded on the highway with a flat tire and no spare (thanks Tesla). Four of us, two dogs and four bikes all in need of transport to Whistler. After calling a few taxi companies we connected with Howe Sound who promptly sent out a van. Upon seeing the amount of stuff we had, and emphasizing with our desire NOT to leave our bikes with our car, Kelly called the owner, Frank, who came with the handicap van to get out bikes. He came despite being off duty because he felt for our situation. We are so appreciative! Looking at some of the reviews online, I can see that there is some concern about the dispatch service that Howe Sound uses. To my understanding, this is an out of country, outsourced service that may be prone to miscommunication. This is unfortunate because in our experience Frank and company are great people running a great service that certainly saved us.
