Today, It took them 20 minutes before I get to be seated when Restaurant is half full with 5 waiting staff. A Female waitress came by immediately announced before taking our order, said, kitchen takes 1 hour + to prepare foods. I tried to make things easier, so order soda & pre-cut cakes for snacks only. Nothing requires of kitchen chef. Surprisingly, simple/ no brained order still took a long time, 1 hour, this is obscured! I demand for manager’s appearance, waitress proclaimed it wasn’t her fault, bar tender didn’t give her the drink. WORST Excuses to make travelers experience worsened than the inefficient custom clearance which took over 2 1/2 hours. OVERHEARD from next table, their foods over cooked, some ingredients missing in the orders…. SHINE AWAY FROM HOUSTON AVE. bar & grill is to reduce your traveling stress & TIME!

The service was good but the food was mediocre at best. We ordered the chicken tenders and the calamari. I had a Moscow mule, vodka used wasn't great. The tenders were tasted okay, meat was a bit dry. The calamari was alright on its own but came with guacamole.. which was awful looking and tasted odd. It was grey and I can't describe the taste but I took a dip and stopped. All in all, since airport restaurants are few, I may have to go back. I think I'll order burger and beer next time to be safe.

The food was good as well as the drinks. Service was pretty quick. A bit expensive, but we are talking about an airport bar.

Food is definitely mediocre but the service was good. We only ate here because of this restaurant is located right across from our boarding gate inside the Trudeau Airport. I didn’t have much expectation as we were here for airport food. The chicken tender and fries were definitely over fried which made the chicken very hard to chew. The fries were saggy and stale. Good thing that they provided catchup. Salmon and spinach salad was ok. The salmon was over cooked so it was also very hard to eat. But the salad dressing was tasty. Anyway, this was a one time experience. So a word of advice for potential travelers: eat before go to the airport.

The steak was good, tender in the middle, slightly dry on the edge. Fries was good. Side vegetables are bit blend, it's boiled veggies. I guess you can season on your own. Overall, the experience and food is decent at the airport.

Avoid this place at all cost. Bad food, unfair & very rude / poor service. The fries tasted burnt, other food were also bland & old. All the staff behaved like they have given up on life & went out of their way to make you feel unwelcome & unwanted. Our (a female) server treated us really unfairly and condescendingly. We even witnessed some staff yelling at customers! Unbelievable! You will also highly likely miss your flight if you dine here; food took 30 mins to come to table. Regretted not settling at Starbucks for a hot bagel & flat white. No service is better than bad service after all!

It took a bit of time to get in, as they appeared to be low-staffed. Once seated, our waiter was quick to bring water and take our orders. We had the Bacon & Cheddar and Houston burgers. Tap beer options were Coors Light, Molson Canadian, Loxley, and an IPA. Had the Molson which is okay... My Houston Burger was missing its caramelized onions, the waiter was quick to notice my facial expression and approached me, and brought a generous plate of caramelized onions, making it right. Due to the few dining options at the terminal, would go back.

After three weeks in Africa was looking for some familiar food and selected this restaurant, figuring with “Houston “ in the name the burgers should be good. What we got: a 1/4 inch dried up hockey puck that was half the diameter of the bun. The bacon: look for yourself in the picture. The “cheddar” cheese: some processed cheese food that didn’t even melt. The service: about equal to the food. Did we pay for this? Yes, 23 dollars for that burger. Did we tip? Yes we did that also even though we relayed our feelings to the waitress. Oh yes there was an appetizer: shrimp in very thick heavily fried hard as rock coating. Ate one or two and gave up.
