Horseshoe Veterinary Clinic was established in Swift Current in 1998 to serve the Horseshoe Tourism Region. The current owner and veterinarian was one of the original partners in the practice and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Walliser began his career in a small town in Manitoba and worked in 4 other practices before starting his own clinic. He strives to provide the friendly, personal service that small towns are known for with some added conveniences of modern equipment in spacious facilities. The clinic employs various support staff, including two veterinary technicians. The majority of patients seen are companion animals but Dr. Walliser enjoys the variety the community offers with swine, beef and dairy operations as well. The clinic operates as a one man practice; primarily in clinic but with ambulatory care available for preg checking, calving, semen testing, and herd health as required.

They will knock it out cold and load it up on Valium just to tell you 8 hours later with no phone call to update you all day that they couldn’t even do the neuter because they think it’s a girl, and they don’t spay rabbits. She was so drugged up she couldn’t even hop for 5 days, without falling over. She couldn’t eat or drink and had to be forced, since she couldn’t make it to her food and water dish. Then they will charge you $130 for doing absolutely nothing other than almost killing your rabbit by weighing it as 5 pounds when it only ever weighed 3! They overdosed her so bad she thought litter was good for weeks. Completely avoidable if they could have checked if it was a male or female without any drugs if they were half decent. Happy to say I took her to Elrose to get spayed and she’s going great! I’d rate them 0/5 if I could. Worst experience ever! With no offer to refund my $130 for scamming me, all I got was a call that they had contacted a Saskatoon vet to find out what could have went wrong with the dosages. Maybe if you could weigh a rabbit correctly you wouldn’t have to run to someone else for help after making the mistake! I kept waiting for the call that I could have my money back that I worked hard at saving for the surgery. This never happened so I thought I’d let people know my opinion on how awful this vet clinic is. Thanks for reading!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been bringing my dogs here for years and the entire staff at the clinic have always been super helpful and kind. The vet is amazing and always so calm with my nervous dog. They're very compassionate when it's time for a pet to be euthanized. I will definitely continue to bring my family pets here. Definitely recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have a cat that was in distress with crystals and had called around and went thru several friends and their recommended places and every single one said the minimum wait to even see the vet would be damn near 2 wks plus!! Well not wanting to pay the extra $150 just because I would have to be classified emergency to actually see the vet I called horseshoe and my baby boy kitty was in the next day and had a calm visit and was listened to and was given the best recommendations for care I could have asked for and was very affordable and the staff were all great. Worth the 5 stars 100% and is now my vet of choice for all future issues if they arise
