Father Bernie was a dearly loved and devoted Roman Catholic Priest. He worked in various ministries in his 52 years of priesthood. He was a parish priest and a prison, school and hospital chaplin. He served in the Dioceses of Hamilton, Calgary and in the Northwest Territories for the Diocese of MacKenzie-Fort Smith.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had wanted to get married in St. Mary's Cathedral (with the priest I had known since i was 9), I was told I needed permission from my designated church (Holy Name) in order for this to happen. I had informed Holy Name of the date of the wedding right of the bat. Without going into much detail, the current father at Holy Name was rude, condescending, judgmental and could care less if I got married at a Catholic church or not. This is very ironic for obvious reasons. When I confronted the father about this, his response was along the lines of "yup, okay, bye". Needless to say my mother (who unlike myself is extremely religious and goes to church every week, if shes not working) and I will be writing a formal letter about this....no wonder Holy name church is not as busy as it use to be.... My family and I will no longer be attending this church moving forward.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The building itself is pretty good. They are a little short on parking, but it is surrounded by residential streets with no parking restrictions so it is possible to come to each and every event here.
The Mass itself is average here. There priest seems to be exceptionally stressed out about Covid19 here and ends up increasing the stress levels of the congregation too as a result. He makes everyone watch a movie on how to take Communion during Covid19 and discusses the effects and affects of the Pandemic on the Mass and Church business frequently.
The Priest's message in his Homily is succinct and on point. I think he just needs to relax a little more.
Jesus used to spend much time with the lepers and sick. Mother Theresa did too. Surely faith vanquishes over fear?
