I have been looking for a good hair stylist since my Japanese hair stylist went back to Japan in 2015. I have tried so many different salons afterwards; but none of them made me happy. It was either the colour faded after 2-3 weeks (no bleaching involved), or the stylist doesn't understand what I want. My friend recommended Jasmine in 2018 and I was IN LOVE with her skills after the first trial! I got so many compliments from people around me (guy and girls, young and mature) after having my hair done with Jas. Jas is a very honest and easy-going person -- she only recommend what I need. She respect my opinion but will always provide her professional thoughts. If you are someone who want to become prettier or more handsome, I would recommend Jas from HOC! This new location is very convenience, it was very easy to look for parking. I also love how the staffs protect their clients during the pandemic -- everything is clean and sensitized.

I do NOT recommend this Hair Salon to anyone! PLEASE DO NOT book your appointment with either: Jello Mak or Judy Zhu. These 2 are both MONEY HUNGRY. The service I received from Jello cost me about $1000! I am fully aware that every salon and beauty businesses have their own billing policies but I don’t believe that it’s fair nor necessary to charge me or anyone this much. Especially for a service that was done poorly. My hairstylist was 2 hrs late to my appointment and made me wait in the rain/cold because she slept in! She even had the audacity to tell me to come back between 11am-12pm and wait for her over the phone. She even told me “go to the mall or coffee shop to kill time”. This was the first impression I got from her unprofessional behaviour. I still waited and gave her a chance to do my hair. After my appointment, she ended up burning my scalp and gave me the wrong hair colour. Originally, I asked for a platinum silver colour during my consultation on Jan 5th. She insisted and promised that she was capable of achieving that colour in one session. Just to mention, before the actual application, I already had some blonde hair residue from my previous hair colour. As a result, she turned my hair into a darker shade of grey with brown patches and 2 purple streaks on both sides of my head and BURNT my scalp! Overall, I was not happy with the result. I have addressed my concerns directly to Jello on the day of the application was done. All she told me was that it was NORMAL and wait after a couple washes and that the colour will fade out to a lighter grey. After I sent her the photos, she left me on read on WhatsApp for days and ignored the fact that I was trying to address her about my concerns. I had to physically show up to the salon on June 16th because Jello didn’t take my concerns in consideration. I walked in and all the staff basically ignored me. The manager who walked pass by me 5 times didn’t even greet nor showed any interest to accommodate me. She seemed almost like she was trying to avoid me by keeping herself busy while I was patiently waiting for her. I had to wait 45 mins for her to finally come to me just to tell me “ I can’t do anything for you. But I can return your tips and the 2 products that you returned”. I pointed out my concerns and explained to her clearly that I was not happy. Yet, she told me the same thing to wait after a couple washes and that my hair will slowly fade out and that the scabbing/burnt scalp was normal. I waited til today and my hair basically turned BROWN with purple patches. My scalp is now dry and flaky! I asked for a refund but both jello and Judy refused to take any action towards my request. I was in pain for over a week and had to attend to school and work with uncleaned hair with a burnt scalp. I was afraid to take the risk washing my hair and didn’t want to cause my hair/scalp any more irritations by using any product on top of the bleached hair. I gave my hair a few days break from shampooing/conditioning. She quoted that everything was “NORMAL”. This is NOT normal! I reached out to the salon and Jello but they chose to ignore my case and showed no care towards my concerns. Instead of coming forward to resolve this problem, they refused to refund me the remainder of my money that I requested. They basically tried to force me to go back for a complimentary treatment and would still have to pay additional charges for the second session. I tried to let them know that I was not interested in taking neither of their offers and I just wanted my money back. For over a month, I was constantly messaging them on WhatsApp, giving them an update each day and asking for a manager to get back to me. I even the called the salon and the staff told me that the manager wont talk nor help me. I’m currently blocked by the manager, Judy. On the chat, she listed false information. I was not refunded with everything she listed. She even tried to lie about the price from what I originally paid. I have the original copy of the receipt and that I paid roughly $998.32.

My first time going completely blonde and I absolutely loved the result of my colour. It turned out exactly the way I wanted. The salon itself is extremely modern and clean. Even the hair washing station had dimmed lighting and ambient music to help you relax. You can tell a lot of thought has been put into the details. Would highly recommend <3

Jello is an absolute pleasure to have as a hairdresser and stylist. I've had a lot of poor experiences with hairdressers not fitting my vision or trying to change my goals. I'd never gone to a luxury salon. She was quick to reply to my message and set up an appointment right away. She was sweet and kind, super friendly and approachable. She listened about what I wanted, and gave her professional input but wasn't pushy. She got the colour just right and the cut was meticulously done. She has a great eye for detail and diligence. She was not finished until that last stand of hair was just right. It was a full day of special treatment and I felt like a queen getting pampered. Oh my god and the pics afterwards! It was like a professional photo shoot just for me! I had a lot of fun. Well worth the time and expense. She also gave a detailed description of hair care follow up. I'll be back for sure.

Booked an appointment with Jellen, very sweet girl and knowledgably about what's suitable for your hair. When it comes to prep and color she always explains step by step to make ensure you that you are not left in the dark. she went through my whole process from hair color, prep and what shampoo was used for my service. also she offers the best head massages when it comes to hair washing. left with healthy and shining hair !

Recently went in for a root touch up and colour refresh. Big thanks to Jello for keeping my hair healthy and shiny throughout the last few years in achieving my hair goals. She always tells me what she plans to do in order to achieve what I asked for and gives me suggestions on how to go about maintaining the integrity of my hair. Not only this, but at each appointment she makes sure I am comfortable and does her best to accommodate me.

I went to HOC to get a combover with a skinfade. Jellen did a fantastic job and it turned out super well!! 10/10 would go back again.

Had a great time and experience at the Salon with Jello as she recovered my dry and old bleached hair to colourful smooth hair with some volume in time for my graduation! She was very friendly and gave a lot of guidance along the way, making sure I understand the process and details to help me make informed decisions. I did a balayage, bond + caviar treatment. I think the treatments gave my bleached hair a lot of smoothing and shine! Will recommend! <3 <3 <3
