Very nice retirement home. Staff is friendly and it's not too big to make it impersonal and a place where people are overworked and don't care. My father lives there.

my mother has been living here for months, food and menus are changed regularly and service is more than outstanding. Although problems have been raised on unruly tenants, the new owners have managed to keep the environment friendly. overall I would say this place is well worth the money for their trust worthy services. it shocks me knowing that people are giving negative reviews.

I am happy to live here. I moved in March 15/21. The food is very good and they serve a variety at each meal. Some rooms are larger than others and visa versa for small rooms. Will find out when laundry day is when shower with PSW to bathe me. Beautiful country setting

Our mother was here for over two years. One of us were there almost daily. During our time there we did not see any of the features as described on their website. We did not often see warm and friendly staff. We did not see where employees were very well trained. We do not believe they do their best to nurture your loved ones and help them age gracefully. We do not recall our mother going out on one group outing. There is no cooking staff constantly striving to make sure the dining experience is the best of our community. There is one employee on a shift who cooks, cleans, does laundry, and looks after 19 residents. There is no schedule of social educational and entertaining activities, no structured program that helps residents maintain a high quality of life. Building & contents very poorly maintained. If the lift to the second floor isn't broke down, confining residents to their floor, then the laundry facilities or the dish sterilizer is. There are no well-maintained garden areas to sit out and enjoy the day. Parking Lot/Sidewalks are not well maintained for seniors and caregivers coming and going. Some employees are loud, and not at all concerned about talking about the residents within earshot. Some employees are mistruthful. Some employees claim they fulfill their duties, take credit for it in the "to do" binder. Anyone can write anything they want in a binder, doesn’t mean it happened. Some employees did not follow COVID procedures, and some didn’t do it properly. I, personally was asked to do the Rapid test only two times, once done correctly, once “ya, you’re O.K.” and thrown in the garbage. Their thermometer didn’t work most of the time, they'd get frustrated and just say "go ahead". I have attached photos to back up a sample of the well-balanced meals served. In conclusion of this fact-based review, I can not recommend Hillside Haven.
