Really bad experience here. The owners do not take care of the property as there was literally a field of poison ivy where our campsite was. Apparently the other sites were okay but the further out you are placed the more the grass is poison. It is also during the Covid 19 pandemic and the seasonal campers (who were not allowed to be in the main campground area) were wandering in from their sites trying to hang out with our group. They were also riding ATVs through our campsite at 60 km/hr. There was no staff monitoring or preventing this. I felt very unsafe and the grounds were much less nice than advertised. I would steer clear of this place if you want a nice weekend.

Most reviewers posting about Hill Top Resorts seem to actually be praising the Beer they drank and Events that they went to, and not the "resort" itself. Here is an honest review on accomodation should you plan to camp here. 1) Poison Ivy absolutely everywhere in non-seasonal sites- The land has been very obviously clear cut with as little effort as possible, it's in the middle of the walking paths, it's in the middle of your campsite in the grass. We had a group of 15 people, of that group, 5 got moderate to severe posion ivy rashes that required a visit to the doctor, and practically all of us got some form of a rash. 2) ATV's speeding through- They will make you sign a waiver when you arrive at Hill Top, this is because they need to-- their seasonal patrons have no respect for your safety. Want to go for a walk? Wear a reflective vest and hope the guy on the ATV coming toward you at 60 KMs/HR is not too juiced to steer into you. If your event includes children, be sure to keep them on a short leash. I saw at least 3 different ATVs over the course of one day driving at unsafe speeds into our camping area. 3) "Friendly" seasonal campers- If you have any attractive women camping with you, remember the buddy system, bears are not the only predators here.

Camped here for a week same week as mud hero 2 years ago. Never again. Mud hero fun but the campground is a deteriorating mess. No firepits or picnic tables. Poison ivy everywhere. It's bush camping. Bathrooms run down with no hot water. Nowhere to relax as the place devolved into a drunken frat bush party. This place has a reputation for drunk partying in the bush and ripping around in quads. If that's your thing have at it. You want family camping go to Grand Beach provincial campground or Grand Palms Resort.

Very noisy campground. ATV’s buzzing by campsites well into the night. Quiet time is 2:00-8:00 am. Dust everywhere as there is no gravel on the roads. No actual landscaping or site maintenance is done. Walk carefully as you don’t know what you might step on. Don’t camp here without a self contained RV. No public restrooms or showers. Makes you wonder if campers are using the swimming area to bathe and the bushes as an outhouse. Honey wagon has to pump out seasonal campers as there is no black tank dump facility. No Wifi so entertainment is watching incoming campers try to level their RV’s as none of the sites are graded. Saw one truck trying to pull an trailer with it’s tires spinning in the sand. Another bus parked on a hill has it’s front tires jacked 2 feet off the ground in order for it to be level. Garbage is not in bear proof containers. There was a big bear making the rounds at night. Some of the seasonal campers were eyeing up my daughter and being a little to friendly. Bad things could happen here as there is no staff or security. If you like unrestricted drinking and ripping around on an ATV with no helmet this is the perfect place. Red neck paradise. Don’t come here for quiet time in nature.

This place is AWESOME! It literally has everything, if you want a quiet camping experience you can pick a primitive spot in the far corners of the park and be alone, there is also a ton of saskatoon berry picking ( when I’m season), if you want to be social and crave action……… take your pic! Atv trails in the park ( also have seen lots of mountain bikers on them) and access to a ton outside, only 4 miles from the balsam harbour boat launch, a beach and lake, weekend karaoke, seasonal campers all seem to be quite friendly, staff and management are great, the sites are huge, most are double the size of any other campgrounds. There is a well stocked convenience store, a 3 season bar, food trucks ( occasionally ). Ignore the one star reviews from all the β€œKaren’s”, they complain about the people and atvs cause they want to be in nature, then in the same review they complain about the poison ivy that grows in nature!!…… there is just no pleasing some people This place is like no other, you will love it

A little uncared for. Bathrooms were filthy. Sits were very unorganized. No control over peoples speed on atv even with children near by. Seemed no one was around to keep the rules in place even to some degree. Otherwise the events and atmosphere seemed like it could be fun if those issues could be managed better. At least the safety issues.

Always have such a great time here. Trails and trails and mud lots of mud. If you love quads ATVs or bikes you'll love this place. Always an awesome live bands on weekends. Karaoke and great food at restaurant. Very friendly environment. Lots of fun. There's even a quiet side for families and a louder for us party goers lol.
