★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We're beginners and had an amazing experience! From Chanse assisting in booking our lesson time to Suzie checking us in and getting us fitted with boots, skis and poles to Andre providing over the top ski instructions. Everyone was friendly and very knowledgeable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing snow and perfect grooming as always. The 16km Red Trail is amazing for intermediate+ skiers. Gorgeous view of Georgian Bay under a bright blue sky before the final decent. Thanks again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ski trails look slimy in a good way. Perfect for cross country skiing although I don’t do that. Beautiful groomed trails. The little tracks everywhere are perfect for racing hot wheels. The disc golf course looks fun. Will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a fantastic first time cross countryskiing. The people are super helpful. The trails were beautiful and so much fun. Rentals were great.
Making people mask up outside was a bit much though. Please... follow the science not media fear mongering.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I visited Highlands Nordic yesterday to get our first taste of x-country skiing. We booked a package that included a 45 minute beginner lesson, rentals and day pass; at $70/person this felt like such a bargain, especially because we had the greatest teacher ever! Fred was THE BEST! Friendly, warm, genuine, patient, willing to answer every question I had ( and I had a lot) and was my go even after our lesson was over. All of the staff were really nice, very knowledgeable but seriously, Fred made our day. We were only comfortable checking out the beginner trail and although we didn't stay long (it was quite a cold day), it was absolutely worth the almost 2 hour drive from Toronto; we hope to be back soon. P.S. - they have a small but very thorough store selling all the gear you need so don't worry if for example, you find the gloves you brought entirely inadequate and your fingers completely frozen - you'll be able to buy quality gear on site!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cross country skiing at Highlands Nordic is so much fun! The trails are always nicely groomed and well marked and you can’t beat the scenery. The wind can be a bit fierce at times so make sure you dress in layers as there can be a big difference between being in the trees vs the trails that are more open. Night skiing is always a blast! There are a couple of trails that are lit up, but we wear headlamps so we can explore more.
We're looking to upgrade our equipment next year and the staff in the shop was super helpful and gave us great advice - we'll be back in the fall to get fitted.
