UPDATE: park is fully renovated , very nice for little ones, the climbing pyramid is giant and a little scary, and for some reason very limited lighting so it gets quite dark fast

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm not that happy with the new park. My 9yo nephew is too tall to properly play on anything but the new climbing structure. He asked me if I had a shovel to dig under the swings for depth. Currently the swing seat nearly touches the ground when he sits on it.
My 5yo nephew can still find fun amongst the rest of the play areas, but I'll be lucky if he still feels the same way by this summer.
The climbing structure in the middle of the park, while interesting, is kind of dangerous. Both kids got hurt by the metal bits that hold the rope together. These kids love to climb, but even this is a bit much for them. I won't stop them from climbing it, but we'll likely see a few cuts and bruises from it.
I'm looking forward to seeing the ice rink in action once we have proper weather for it. It will be maintained by volunteers - whomever that is will have my sincere appreciation for building it. My eldest wants to skate, but we only managed to get him on a waiting list for hockey this season. I'm hoping to teach him in the park over the next few months.
