A very friendly and personable company. They kept us up to date with the weather forecast because it was touch and go whether the tour would go ahead due to the high winds and rain but it did go ahead and we're so glad that it did. It was only my partner and me on the tour and our guide was brilliant. He kept the tour to our pace, told us interesting facts about the local area but also let us enjoy the tranquility of being on the water. We were provided with a rain jacket, hat, kayak booties, life vest and a "kayak skirt". I would recommend wearing leggings or fast drying 3/4 trousers/shorts and fast drying tops. Only our feet got wet from getting in and out of the kayak, we were kept safe, dry and warm. If we're in the area again we will definitely be going again. Highly recommend it!

This trip changed my life. We took the 5 day 4 night Broken Group Islands with Hello Nature. I go kayaking a few times a year, but only for 2-3 hours at a time. I've never spent more than 3 days camping, and that was with electricity and a town nearby. This was a little out of my comfort zone. We followed Hello Natures instructions, packed accordingly, and showed up 10 minutes early to the water taxi on July 23rd. The next 5 days, with the guidance of Kevin and Isabelle, we had an amazing adventure. Waking to bald eagles chattering in the morning, in a cozy cot with an air mattress. Tents that were easy to put up. Comfy chairs to sit in around the fire. All of these things we packed into our kayaks with ease. Small comforts that made a big difference. At night, listening to song birds give their last calls. Waves gently hitting the shore. I would fall asleep exhausted from the physical exertion and the overwhelming beauty of the day. Over the course of 5 days we learned a little bit more about kayaking each day. Kevin is an amazing storyteller, comedian, expert kayaker, hiking/bushwhacking outdoor survival guy. I called him our Canadian Bear Grylls. Seriously, someone should give this guy his own tv show. He has 18 years of experience in the Broken Group. Isabelle taught me many things about how to paddle effectively, proper posture, and she always made sure everyone was comfortable. She is also a great cook! In total there was 7 guests and 2 guides. We quickly bonded and had such a fun time together. The scenery in the Broken Group is untouched, mesmerizing and at times almost made me emotional. A sunset paddle felt almost spiritual, calm water and the sun sinking down into the mountains. We were very spoiled on this trip with Hello Nature. The food is incredible, gourmet, surprisingly done over a simple camp stove, or at one point, lunch was thrown together in a pot on a table in what looked like a bear estuary on the mainland of Vancouver Island. We paddled around almost all of the Broken Group. We saw fish, inter tidal zone creatures like sea stars, baby seals, mother seals, loads of bald eagles, deer, a mink, a raccoon, and other lovely sea birds like pigeon guillemots and oyster catchers. I highly recommend that if you take this trip, bring a good (older) pair of running shoes/hiking boots for the hiking aspects of this trip. I mentioned at the beginning that this trip changed my life, and it did. For 5 days I didn't listen to music, I didn't stress about anything. The biggest thing my brain had to deal with was tired shoulders from paddling, and telling myself that I could not quit. This trip made me stronger mentally, and it made me fall even more in love with the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. If you thinking of doing this trip, book it with Hello Nature. You will be well taken care of, use the best equipment and eat like a king. You will also laugh a lot and learn so much about kayaking, the history of the Broken Group and explore nature like many never have.

Wanna fully immerse yourself into the wild and learn a lot about the spectacular flora and fauna of Clayoquot Sound? If you answered yes (I assume you would), then you have to book yourself on the two hiking trips that Hello Nature offers out of Tofino. I was lucky enough to join Hello Nature on two small group hikes to both the Wild Side Trail on Flores Island as well as the rougher and wilder unnamed trail on Vargas Island. Throughout both hikes, Kevin was provided top notch interpretation of our surroundings and always had answers for my questions. It’s hard to imagine finding someone more informed to go on a hike with, Kevin knew it all. The tours are also a great way to learn about the First Nations culture in the area as you hike through their traditional territory. Hello Nature also employs the Ahousaht First Nations (when available) to transport groups to and from the islands. One of the true highlights that both these hikes offer is the fact you’ll rarely ever see another soul. While the trails in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve are stunning, they are really narrow and overcrowded at times. Never do you have that issue on these tours. If you’re going to run into anything, it’s likely to be wildlife. Throughout both tours, we also had the opportunity to see plenty of wildlife. There were countless bald eagles always flying above our heads as we marched through the temperate old-growth rainforest. During both hikes, we were able to spot grey whales in the nearby waters. At the conclusion of our hike on Vargas Island we were even able to sit and watch a couple of grey whales before returning to Tofino. If you’re looking for a more adventurous and informative way of exploring Clayoquot Sound, book with Hello Nature – you won’t spend your money in a better place while visiting the area.

Went on a kayak trip with our guide Emma. We went with our two little kids (6&3) and Emma was very patient and did everything she could to keep the kids engaged and taught them a few things along the way. It was a great little trip and I’d highly recommend it

What a wonderful experience from start to finish! Our guide Cali was SO friendly, knowledgable, professional and passionate. We went on a 2-3 hour guided tour of the harbour & it went by so quick! Cali pointed out local wildlife and gave us some history about the area. Local or visiting Ucluelet - I wouldn't hesitate to book with Hello Nature. We can't wait to try the other tour types. Thanks for the great experience.

Had a brilliant half day kayak experience with Emma. She was super efficient, very knowledgeable and fun too! Being in our seventies a little cautious but it was a fantastic experience and we learned a lot about the area, the people and of course the wildlife! And we saw bears - a mum and two cubs which was one of my dreams for this trip from the uk. Thank you! Also great recommendation to visit the Aquarium. A great project with lots to see and learn about!

My husband and I had such a wonderful time with our guide Jonathan from Hello Nature Adventure Tours on our day trip to the Broken Group of Islands. Neither of us had any previous sea kayaking experience and we were completely comfortable on the water for the whole day. Jonathan was very knowledgeable and approached everyone in our group with authentic kindness. Kevin (the owner) went out of his way to accommodate us for the day trip and it’s clear that he runs a β€˜top shelf’ operation! A must do when in Ucluelet!
