★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered a cake from an inspiration I found online and it turned out just as I wanted. We went with cookies & cream flavor and it was the best cake I've ever had! It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet as most icings are. Highly recommend Hearthstone Bakery!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4.5 $ for croissant is very expensive in 2022. You can blame it on dairy products going up. It's just butter and flour. It didn't taste as good as the first time I had it there. Definitely quality not the same.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent baked goods! Update: the vanilla & chocolate cake slice w/berry compote was really good! The icing was just right, not too sweet :-) A perfect mini-cake to celebrate my wife's birthday while camping. Everything we've tried from here has been just lovely: bird's nest cookies, pastries, sausage rolls... yum! Would love to purchase one of everything ;-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve given Hearthstone many opportunities in the last few years as it’s not far from my home. Unfortunately I’ve been disappointed with almost everything I’ve tried except for the croissants (which at 4.50 I find too expensive to purchase often). I’ve ordered a birthday cake, had their muffins, cupcakes, danishes, brownies and yesterday I got a cinnamon bun from them which is what made me write this review. It was terrible. Overcooked, so much dough ratio to icing. I don’t think I’ve ever had a cinnamon bun with such little icing, it’s like they just skimmed the top. People like icing, it’s one of the best parts of a cinnamon roll. I’m done trying things in hopes I will like something. I’ve given it a more than fair chance. The cinnamon roll was the final straw!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful bakery with amazing variety of choices. Their house made bread is great with daily changes so you can make different choices to what you feel for. The brownies and scones that I had was very good. I haven’t tried yet but they said they got the award for the best Nanaimo bars! I will try it next time I visit. I highly recommend this place! Check it out!
