★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My ex partner and I saw Terry of Heart Space Wellness SSI, while we were together and as well for one on one sessions during that time.
My experience with Terry when I saw her one on one went as such: I was telling her of my past as it pertained to abandonment and abuse. At the end she showed me how to brush myself off with a feather. I went along with this to not insult her... but walked away feeling like I received no guidance or genuine caring, for she said not much during the session. Including a goodbye, for she welcomed another client into her office while I was in the bathroom to wipe my tears, so I saw myself out.
When together, my ex and I had spoken to her about our wishes to uncouple consciously with ceremony and community support, but had chosen to remain together. Eventually, he saw her one on one while I was away getting arrested at ferry creek. According to him, Terry suggested he leave me in secret that very night. So I came home to a half empty house and a hungry cat. This was re-traumatizing for me. And she knew my particular triggers around abandonment, given our one on one session together.
I wrote her about a month and a half later for explanation. It's been 5 months and I have not received a response from her. I've written kindly, twice. I think its important for counsellors to be acknowledging and taking accountability for their misguidance. In care for their clients, their own practises competence, and their trust by the greater community.

When I met Terry I knew she was someone who had done her own work, was highly dedicated to ongoing learning, and was authentically called to supporting others. In the time that I have worked with Terry, I have felt incredibly seen, heard and understood. Terry is a wealth of information, and always leaves me feeling inspired, loved and fully accepted. I have noticed that when something Terry suggests doesn't fit and I give her that feedback. , she is able to adapt and offer new ideas. Her space is warm and welcoming and I always feel safe there.
