WOW! is about the only way to describe the waterfowl hunting in this part of Manitoba. It is no understatement to say that our waterfowl hunts are unlike any in the world. We see many species of divers and puddle ducks, mallards, red heads, blue bills, canvasback, ringnecks, buffleheads, pintails, wood ducks, teal, snow geese, greater and lesser Canadian geese – just to name a few.

The mix of divers and puddle duck hunting gives you the opportunity to experience both during your stay with us. We hunt fields for puddle ducks and geese and water for divers. One of the biggest decisions our hunters have to make when they are here is what type of hunt to do the next day, as both field and water hunts are outstanding.

The combination of location and habitat make our lodge a prime spot on the central flyway and one of the first stops along the migration route south. These ducks and geese are ready to rest and feed along the marshes, rivers, lakes and grain fields that make up the surrounding areas. They may not have seen a hunter until they come into our decoys right in front of you! And If the Manitoba Waterfowling alone is not enough variety, we have some terrific ruffed grouse hunting here as well.

Our waterfowl guests also have the opportunity to go fishing at no additional charge.

I was there mainly for social purposes, while others may be there for guided hunts or temporary accommodations while in the area. The cabins are fairly nice, often with personal touches. Some contain cable TV and washrooms within the cabins. There is limited access to WiFi in the main lodge. However, it is the community aspect of interacting with the owners who are personable and genuine which really make the experience.

John and Karissa are outstanding host and will stop at nothing to ensure you have a great time. I did a bear hunt with Harvest Lodge in Sept 2019 and had a unbelievable time. I was blessed to harvest a 400lb black bear and also catch some fish. If you are looking for a place to hunt year after year or have saved up for that one hunting trip of a lifetime then Harvest Lodge is where you need to go! I promise you won’t be disappointed!!!

Our cabin was perfect for our family and the area was beautiful. 4 days on the boat surrounded by wildlife and fish in the live well. The location is beautiful. The food was amazing. The waterfowl hunting was the best I have ever experienced. My friend and I had the pleasure of hunting with Jon, his father, and his son. Phenomenal people that felt like extended family after just a few days. I definitely want to return.
T	Thomas Malone on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is hard to describe the amount of effort that Jon and Karissa put into their lodge, ensuring that you have a successful hunt an overall amazing experience during your stay with them. I did two separate hunts with Harvest Lodge in 2021, bear and water fowl. If you are wondering about success rate, all four of the bear hunters were successful, with two of the bears pushing over 450 pounds. Everyone saw multiple quality bears, left happy with our hunt, and created life long memories from our hunt. During the waterfowl hunt, Jon and his guide worked tirelessly to ensure we were set up in great locations each day. This culminated on the final day where we were went to a remote duck blind only accessibly by boat (see the picture!) where three of us hit our limit in an hour. Again its difficult to truly express in a review but I hope these examples highlight the dedication that the lodge owners have and also the experiences that can be had at a place like Harvest Lodge.

The best hospitality and fellowship was experienced in camp. Jon and Karissa Warkentin are salt of the earth and amazing hosts. I've hunted here many times and every hunter that I've brought have harvested an amazing bear!! This is definitely the place you want to bear hunt!! Amazing!!!
