About Hakim Optical Shawville
Hakim Optical began 50 years ago, when Sir Hakimi was grinding lenses for the Canadian wholesale market. He learned his craft as a youth in his native Iran and honed it in subsequent years, grinding lenses in Germany and camera lenses in Switzerland. Attracted by the excitement of retail opportunities, Sir Hakimi began to pass the great deals he gave wholesalers on to the public. Today, Hakim Optical serves the people of Canada with 161 outlets (including 140 one hour factory outlets) across Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chantal provided EXCEPTIONAL service. My daughter requires specially manufactured lenses - almost perfectly flat, which no other dispensary will do. Hakim filled the order NO PROBLEM. No one told us to "just take them home and get used to them." That has never worked before because the curve of the lens wasn't correct and she just couldn't see through them. Chantal ensured the lenses were right. For the first time in her life, my daughter felt good about getting new lenses because no one questioned whether she was telling the truth. Chantal believed her the first time, and now my daughter can see.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in with my sister while she looked for new glasses, and the staff were some of the friendliest and helpful people we've ever met. I ended up chatting with the associates Jessica and Josslyn, both of which were very thorough and helpful with my sisters process of getting new glasses. Both were very personable and easy to talk to and showed interest in my eyesight as well. Overall a lovely experience and extremely helpful to both my sister and I. :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chantel and JESSICA (sorry girl, I swear I heard Stephanie haha) are an absolute dream team to experience. Not only were they quick and helpful with my insurance billing, they also gave friendly and professional advice when it came to choosing the right frames and lenses for my situation. I learned so much about my eyes in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere that I am actually super excited to start wearing glasses and experiencing the benefits of the add ons we picked together.
The selection of frames and shopping process even throughout a pandemic where hands on activities like trying on glasses ? might seem intimidating, they made it seamless by explaining the steps calmly and in an inviting manner.
I highly recommend coming here not only for eye exams, which was one of the reasons I came in, but DEFINITELY coming in for glasses of any kind. The selection of safety glasses is pretty cool! I will be bringing my construction pals in for sure.
Thanks again ladies. Can’t wait to rock my new frames, and start seeing better!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed with the service. When a real medical issue arose I was treated like a noisy client , when in reality the store staff who have no medical training delayed my son having his urgent concerns addressed. When I called multiple times I was treated poorly and the staff simply hung up the phone with no call back. This negligent "service" was beyond inappropriate. I will not recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been going to this location, 250 Shawville Blvd S.E. for many years because of the great, professional, friendly service I always recieve from Chantelle and her staff. Fantastic selection of glasses and best prices. Chantelle has really made a difference at that location, anytime i need an adjustment or have a problem with my glasses, she goes above and beyond to help. I have refered my family and friends to go see her. They always comment, how friendly she is and how well they were looked after. If you need glasses, contacts, or eye exam and want phenomenal customer service, Go to this location and ask for Chantelle, you definatly wont be dissapointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There was an older gentleman there that was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Since he retired the service has significantly declined and the prices increased. Their pitch is take it or leave it. And I left it! Way better price, service, and selection at Real Canadian Superstore Optical.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just picked up two new pairs of glasses today and love them. The staff at Shawville Hakim was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Jessica. She walked me through every stage from beginning to end. I really didn't know what style I was interested in (I usually dread shopping for glasses) but Jessica pointed me toward a few options to best fit my prescription, taking into account what style I was already wearing. She also suggested some great options for consideration, one of which I bought. I am quite happy with both pairs and will definitely go back to this Hakim next time I need new glasses (or perhaps sooner for contacts that need updating too!)
