H&R Block

In the past, we went to community income tax clinic and they messed up my wife's tax return. Well it was free... what can we expect.... and she eventually paid an accountant to fix it. We learn our expensive lesson. This year a friend introduced us to this branch. We are very happy with their service since she explained tax return to us. Very professional! We don't mind to pay a bit more to have this peace of mind.

Great place to get your taxes done. Pricey but really good service, and you can be guaranteed with their protector add on that you are getting the best tax filed representation

My Wife and I hadn’t filed for 2018 / 19 and were a little concerned due to it being a weird couple of years. We dropped off all our information today, were told would be done within an hour if no complications. True to their word our returns were done, as we waited my Wife and I wagered how much we would owe... Thanks to the professionalism of Dagmar, we were blown away with solid refunds. So pleasantly surprised. An excellent experience, we will be returning. Thank you ladies. ??

I usually don't write any review. But this time my experience was beyond the worst, so I cannot be just quiet... You SHOULD NEVER USE H&R BLOCK unless you are a tax expert and can review their work by yourself. It was my first time, trying to use H&R Block. But I will never use them in future because I cannot trust their work, or service. I actually ended up having another company do our taxes, which gave us a few thousand dollars more refund/less payment. Here is our experience with H&R BLOCK this branch. We used the service called "Remote Tax Expert". (Tax Expert? really? lol) I was assigned a person in this branch. After I asked her to start preparing our taxes, she told me she would look at all our documents and contact us soon. But nobody had contacted for two weeks. I sent two messages, one of them saying I was worried. No reply. I called but I was told "it will be taken care of, so don't worry." Then, the next day, they finally sent us the review. I thought finally they took care of our taxes. Then, surprise! They ignored all the documents and numbers needed to be calculated and entered manually, including RRSP contributions, investment income, investment expenses, etc. etc. All of them! They used the numbers automatically downloadable from CRA, and then that was it! If the tax return was so easy, I would do it by myself. They asked us to pay the fee, which is about 400 dollars for both of us. Wow so expensive for such an easy work. Fortunately, I have basic knowledge about tax return. If I didn't know anything, I would just give them go ahead and pay the fee. I sent messages asking if they included all of the documents. Also, asked the person in charge to call me the next day. Just in case I called the office, and left the message for her to call me back the next day. I even checked her working time, and made sure when she can call me. No phone call. Long story short, I couldn't reach anybody who know what happened to my tax and discuss it, even though I made a lot of effort. They don't care to look at our documents, explain what was happening or just simply reply to my messages or phone calls. Then I started feeling angry rather than worried. We called and told them to just stop preparing our tax. We didn't want to use them anymore. How could I trust such a lousy service? Funny thing happened after that though. Even though we clearly said we would not use H&R BLOCK, we received two phone calls (which I didn't pick up) and they calculated our tax within two hours and sent another version of review to us, which were totally different numbers from the first version because finally they included the documents. But still, their numbers is wrong. I noticed they missed one big number again when I compared with the other one completed by the different tax preparer. That causes a few thousand dollar difference in the result. They don't care about the accuracy or benefit for customers... Just be aware. They can make a huge mistake and you might be screwed up even if you do everything right. If you are not confident to review their work, never use them.

This is my second year filing at this location and I will definitely be back next year again. My accountant, Ashley, is an absolute gem! By far the best customer experience I’ve ever had while doing my taxes. Thanks, Ashley for all your help!
