Dr. Oleksandr Ielisov - General Dentist
Dr. Oleksandr Ielisov is originally from Ukraine, where he graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University in Kyiv City in 2007. He worked as a general dentist over the next 8 years, where he improved and honed his skills in contemporary methods of treatment. In 2015, Dr. Ielisov (or Dr. Alex as we like to call him) immigrated to Canada to improve his professional skills to an international level. Although, he was not able to practice dentistry upon his arrival, he worked hard as a dental technician as he prepared for the NDEB (The National Dental Examining Board of Canada).
Beginning in 2018, he began taking courses in Toronto and was able to successfully complete and pass all the NDEB exams in 2020, demonstrating his incredible dedication to the profession. He has worked extremely hard the past years to achieve the goal of becoming a licensed dentist in Canada. Dr. Alex joined Greenwoods Dental Centre in January 2021. He is known to be a very kind and caring person, who is very detail oriented with all his work. He definitely has a true passion for dentistry as a craft and as a profession. Dr Alex is keen on constantly increasing his knowledge and skills through courses and seminars.
In his free time, Dr. Alex he loves to spend quality time with his wife and two children, exploring the different cities Canada has to offer. He also enjoys playing sports, running, street dancing and listening to modern music.

I have a non-verbal child who can be quite challenging to work with. Every, single experience with Greenwoods Dental was outstanding. From the initial conversations to quotes to booking the appointment to the free shuttle pickup/drop-off to the meetings with the anesthesiologist and the doctor to the recovery room and payments. Every, single aspect was about as flawless and perfect as you could ask for.
Bonus star awarded for the follow-up text(s) from our surgeon, making certain the recovery was going well and that i had no further questions or concerns.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had very high expectations when I came to this clinic,but it turned out to be a letdown. I had a cavity on one of my teeth, so I made an appointment and checked by a doctor here. The X-ray was take, I was told I need root canal treatment and crown. I asked is there anyway I can filling and keep the roots, She said no. Then I went another clinic and with the X-ray I took from here. I was told the X-ray is unprofessional and blurry. and another clinic was nice to take couple of new for free. After look at the X-ray, the doctor told me it was not severe enough to do a root canal right away. Instead, he suggested I could do a filling first and see how it goes. I understand the doctor has the knowledge to determine how to treat a patient but they should explain the circumstance and offer the patient options.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me and my husband's first appointment with Greenwoods Dental Portage branch last January 5 is truly an astounding and unforgettable experienced, from the moment that we entered the clinic...Receptionists welcomed us with a smile, they are so friendly and very accommodating. They make it sure that safety measures or protocols are being followed for the protection of their patients..The clinic are also very clean, well-equipped and have an advanced or modernize apparatus and instruments. So, amazing that you cannot find this with any other dental clinic...We would also like to commend Ms. Marry Ann "the Dentist Asst." who have been very helpful since we arrived, Mr. Sam "the Dental Hygienist' who's been very patient with my husband's oral health problems and most especially Dr. Jessie "the Dentist" from which me and my husband was really surprised starting from the way she cleaned my teeth to my husband's tooth extractions it's so astonishing as my husband didn't feel any pain at all and the procedure was done very efficiently. In addition, we would also like to commend the friendly guard named "John" whom he even gave us a shuttle service back home. Lastly, the fees are very reasonable. You will not regret it...I will definitely, absolutely, highly recommend GREENWOODS DENTAL - Portage Branch not only to my friends but to everyone...:-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had never been here before but my usual children’s dentist was not returning my messages so I decided to try them out.
I took my 4 year old son to see Dr. Jessy for an extraction which was also his first visit ever to the dentist.
He was very nervous and Dr. Jessy and 2 other staff Chrissy and Mary went to work giving him treats and toys and balloons to make him as comfortable as possible. They put on his favourite show Paw Patrol and distracted him as best they could.
They removed his tooth very quickly and made the extraction as pleasant as an extraction can be. My son even smiled on the way home and made jokes after he realized he was not in pain anymore.
Thank you to all the staff who were so kind to my child and made him feel as safe as they could.
I would recommend this location at 246 Portage Ave. to anyone needing a new dentist.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It took a while to get my treatment. They could have informed to come earlier than the appointment time to get ready with the insurance part. The receptionist Shannon was nice. I waited longer than the time I was treated. The dentist was nice and she made sure it's painless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was my first time to visit and it took a while to verify my insurance, but once they verified it and ushered me inside it was okay. Dr. Jessy and Marry Ann attended to me and explained what procedures needed to be done and explained my insurance coverage. I didn't have enough time so I opted to visit back.
The clinic was clean and well equipped. They checked my temperature each time and all are wearing a mask. It made me feel safe. They also gave me a call a day before of my appointments as a reminder.
I had 2 sessions for filling, root canal and a tooth extraction. I did not feel pain at all during the procedures and Dr. Jessy and Marry Ann really made me comfortable through the whole process.
The rest of the staff are also so nice and accommodating.
Oh, and I also got a free rechargeable toothbrush. Thank you. ?
