Dr. Oleksandr Ielisov - General Dentist
Dr. Oleksandr Ielisov is originally from Ukraine, where he graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University in Kyiv City in 2007. He worked as a general dentist over the next 8 years, where he improved and honed his skills in contemporary methods of treatment. In 2015, Dr. Ielisov (or Dr. Alex as we like to call him) immigrated to Canada to improve his professional skills to an international level. Although, he was not able to practice dentistry upon his arrival, he worked hard as a dental technician as he prepared for the NDEB (The National Dental Examining Board of Canada).
Beginning in 2018, he began taking courses in Toronto and was able to successfully complete and pass all the NDEB exams in 2020, demonstrating his incredible dedication to the profession. He has worked extremely hard the past years to achieve the goal of becoming a licensed dentist in Canada. Dr. Alex joined Greenwoods Dental Centre in January 2021. He is known to be a very kind and caring person, who is very detail oriented with all his work. He definitely has a true passion for dentistry as a craft and as a profession. Dr Alex is keen on constantly increasing his knowledge and skills through courses and seminars.
In his free time, Dr. Alex he loves to spend quality time with his wife and two children, exploring the different cities Canada has to offer. He also enjoys playing sports, running, street dancing and listening to modern music.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was in for a cleaning this time. In the past I have always hated cleanings as they were painful and my mouth hurt for days. Dr. Judge is very through and does an amazing job. I am still pain free 3 days later. Staff there are all very pleasant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While my dentist Dr. Judge has always been pretty good, my visit today led me to decide to find a new dental center. After having been given a pill for oral sedation, as I often experience anxiety attacks, it was only about 20 minutes later that the doctor and I began discussing the options for my treatment that day. Which meant I was already feeling loopy. We figure out a plan and my mouth is numbed. Only THEN do they go check what my insurance will cover. I'm now loopy from the sedative, my whole left side if the face is numb and now they want to talk finances!??! I am told my insurance will leave a very small gap that I have to pay. No problem, but it being the weekend, and I just paid bills... I ask if I can come back Monday to pay or if I can leave my payment info to be processed on Monday. Nope.
I'm pretty helpless in a chair, face numb and an anxiety attack nipping at my heals.
Not professional at all. It left me feeling exploited, and taken advantage of. I won't be returning.

Besides being very convenient my appointment was right on time and Dentist Majid and his very capable Assistant Joanne were very professional and extremely kind and personable. Dr. Majid went over my X-rays and explained what was required and answered any questions. Both my visits were virtually painless and any apprehension that I may have had vanished as soon as I sat down. A very pleasant experience! I'm glad I've found my "new" dental practice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm sorta former patient of Greenwood Dental. I was saddened when I heard the news that my preferred doctor moved to for and nobody had informed his patients that he was leaving. His skill and friendliness was I contrast to the other guy that was there. We even communicated if I was in pain from the poking and the pinching. Mind you, I haven't had an appointment since 2018. I cancelled my January 2019 appointment after hearing the dentist that I liked was gone and I didn't want to be seen by the other guy since he was very rough with my mouth, I was in a lot of pain when he was operating on me with tears streaming down my face, and left a rough patch behind one of my incisors that I had filled. I honestly thought it would smooth out overtime, but it wasn't the case. The work done by the 'nicer' doctor was absolutely smooth and couldn't tell there was a patch there. I'm so hesitant in going back, but they're the only place nearby that is open on weekends and it's walking distance from my house. Maybe their staff had gotten better in the last few years, but I don't want to chance it after hearing about a negative experience by another client who is also one of my friends on Facebook which was a huge red flag and a reason to not come back to this place.
