Grandview Farm

I’ve been riding and showing here for 3 years and love it!

I recently attended a horse show at Grandview farms in order to watch a friend compete in an OHTA event ( 3 day eventing) ... having been to many events at many different facilities and watching many different disciplines . I was appaled at the manor in which the staff , judges , and various officiants conducted their business ... the facility was definately not the premier facility that is advertised .... the staff ,officiants, and judges were sub par to anything I have ever experianced anywhere. The knowledge of the rule book from event staff was lacking . The scoring was weighted in favor of individuals who were students at the facility or of the judges and officiants ... i watched a young lady ride a near perfect dressage round and a perfect stadium round only to get disqualified as she sat at the start line for cross country awaiting her turn with 60 seconds to go before the whistle.. by an officiant from the stadium ring ( who had students showing and not doing as well ) citing that she was offended by the rider who only spoke to her for their tack check . In addition to this unprofessional atmosphere The warmup areas for dressage,stadium, and cross country were too small as well as being nearly entirely under water despite the dry conditions , one of the coaches from the facitity took up the entire warmup area with her students and refused to allow anyone else the opprutunity to properly prepare themselves and their equine partner for the round... this was also overlooked by event staff and officials. I personally will not be returning to Grandview farms and urge any other atheltes who wish to compete at OHTA events to avoid the embarrassment of associting themselves with such an unsportsmanlike facility and event staff ... I have never been so appaled at any equestrian event in all my years
