My daughter loves going everyday. Great educators, tons of experiences, lots of outdoor play and yummy food.

Glenora Child Care Society has exceeded all my expectations. The staff at GCCS are kind, loving, energetic, respectful teachers that bring excitement to my daughter's life, day after day. The classrooms are open, inviting and playful, and the outdoor space is constantly evolving and a highlight of the center. My daughter regularly eats lunches that I would pay top dollar at a restaurant for, all thanks to the in house chef, Noriko. And most importantly, the connection between the kids, teachers and fellow parents makes this center special. The amount of outdoor play that the center fosters is unprecedented - at least 2 hours a day outdoors (weather permitting - though snow and coldness are usually only factors during season transitions, where some kids may not have all their gear yet -). Open ended and "rough play" are encouraged, under supervision, and children are often playing with friends of various age groups. Given the amount of cold weather in Edmonton, it would be remiss if a center did not have adequate strategies to deal with snow and negative degree temperatures. Last year, the center only had "indoor days" during the Polar Vortex and a select few other days. Most other days, the kids will be outdoors. It also encourages the family to explore the outdoors, since we know that the children are used to being outside. GCCS even loans out snowshoes during the wintertime to eager families. After speaking with the staff, I was also pleased to learn that they are happy to work at the center - well paid, benefits, overtime, fully staffed and with excellent opportunities to improve their skill sets. Other parents I have spoken to have had several of their children go through GCCS and have been so happy with their experiences. After discussing with many friends, I have also discovered, happily, that GCCS rates are very reasonable given the caliber of the center. When my daughter was starting at the school, she was 18 months old - hesitant to take even the smallest set of steps - and constantly asking for the assistance of others to help her do tasks. At GCCS, she grew into a very brave, independent, thoughtful learner. She is 3.5 years old now, and can set the table, put away dishes, serves herself (usually healthy) snacks, and can dress herself with her winter coat and accessories. Best of all, she loves her friends and her teachers. Each day she has amusing stories to tell and with the App, I can usually prompt her to tell me more about her day. What an incredible environment for our daughter to learn how to be a part of a community of caring humans.

Great personable educators that know all the children’s names and all are very caring. My son went to GCCS from when he was 1 years old up until before he attended kindergarten. Now my daughter has been here since she’s been just over a year old and loves going to daycare. It is definitely the staff that makes GCCS a positive atmosphere.
