★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gateway Place or MAINSTREET apartments is the most horribly managed apartments in BC next to shelters I would assume. They do not have a good application process, they have allowed prostitutes and drug addicts to live in what they call a family complex. There has been bed bugs, mice and cockroaches. I have lived at more than one location. They are all bad, and many of the other tenants I spoke to hate living here. The managment use bullying tactics to get what they want rather than speak to you like a human being and will constantly threaten eviction notice to get compliance even for things such as routine inspections and maintenance. The maintenance staff is rude and treat you like dirt if you complain.
I have experience four bad tenants to live above me from an abusive alcoholic to drug addicts and generally noisy neighbors. I have experienced all three above mentions infestations due to adjacent tenants who are not clean and they STILL live there. During winter months for the last 5 years the heat is either reduced or off entirely. They gave me an electric floor heater to use so we could pay for our heat that is included in the rent... Slum lords!
