I really like Fort William. The facts are amazing. You should go there. The people there really tell what people of that time would've thought. This place is great because they have a lot of facts surrounding Fort William, which is a rendezous place for the Northwest Fur Company.

We had a great day exploring this park. We thought it was just a park to walk around for a bit and not much to see.. I highly recommend going. Great for all ages. You pay admission when you first get there and then take a 10 min walk into the park- where you walk around a community based on the year 1816. There was a restaurant to eat at as well as a bakery which we didn't make it to. Also can do canoe rides and musket shooting among other activities while your there.

An absolute "jewel in The Queen's crown". This alone made our entire trip. Every aspect (very well spent time) of our day-long tour was priceless. It was a true step back into the early 1800's fur trading history. Our period correct guide "Joe" (the tin-smith) was totally versed in every aspect of the Fort....from the square cut nails in the floorboards to the history of the subjects in the paintings on the walls of "the great-house". Incredible depth of knowledge. The Fort itself was loaded with period correct artifacts....a marvel of antiquities. If you love history, you'll love this. It adds dimension to Canadian history. You'll say, as we said, "we've got to tell everyone about this!" We can't wait to come back for the period correct re-enactments....ENDLESSLY Fascinating!

Fun guided tour, it was hard to get a ride down since I couldn’t walk due to injuries so we missed part of the tour. Tour moves a little bit slow, I wouldn’t say it was kid friendly.

We were excited about our North Shore vacation and coming to Fort William Historical Park and Thunder Bay for the first time. Unfortunately, Fort William was very disappointing. We walked around the Fort feeling lost until we finally found a guide to ask for assistance. The guide dressed in period clothing was not welcoming or informative. I recommend that the Historical Park station a guide at the fort entrance to provide information. We did finally talk with some of the people we were able to find in the buildings so this did help but this was after an hour walking around feeling lost and frustrated . We wanted to know about the history of the Fort and did not find anything until we got on the internet. If you really want to find out about the history of the fur trade be sure to check out the movie and fort at the Grand Portage National Monument in Grand Portage. It provides an excellent interpretation and historical background and its FREE.
