Writing on behalf of my Father. He went in to have his alternator replaced and the shop ended up completing the repair without a quote. The shop charged him, $1500.00 for an Alternator when he called Toyota, afterwards due to the price, the cost should have been under $800.00. The place marks up their parts 200%. I would recommend that you use a different garage for your service.

Have not had good experience with this shop. Only went because it's close to my office. They did a complete brake job on my vehicle. When I pulled out I had very little brake pedal and was driving dangerously. When I called back I was advised there was nothing they could do. Took the vehicle back in for them to look at and I had pedal when I left, but they insisted they didn't modify or change anything. Less than two years later (>20,000 km) the back brakes require replacing to safety due to corrosion. When I return for them to inspect that say sorry must have been a bad batch of brakes and I must pay. When I asked about warranty, only then did they remember the pads they installed had a lifetime warranty. If you choose to use this garage, ask questions and/or get a second opinion. If they can take advantage of you they will!

I recently bought a car privately and the seller I bought it from, got the car certified here. However, not even a week later an engine light came on, on the car, so I brought it into the Nissan dealership. And the next day Nissan informed me there was a crack in the exhaust manifold and they told me this isn't something that 'happens overnight'. And that I should reach out to whomever did the safety, as this is not a car that should have had the passed it's safety. I told to the guys at Forbes and they wouldn't claim any responsibility for it. I would not suggest going to these guys as they clearly don't pay attention to their work.

My daughter recently bought a car privately. The seller had the car certified by Forbes. The day after the car was certified the engine light came on. We went back to Forbes and they said that had nothing to do with the safety and could have been caused by anything. Refused to even look at the car without charging us. Now we're questioning if any of the repairs were even made to have it certified.

I have been a customer for almost 30 years now. I have had nothing but excellent service on all of my vehicles over the years. In fact, I followed them from their shop on Main and Queen to their present location, even though I live downtown. Dennis and his team are top notch!

I am totally disappointed in their diagnostic skills and professionalism at the counter. I guess if you just want basic jobs and procedures done on your vehicle they may be ok but to have in depth high diagnostic skills, they fall way short. We recently brought our truck in to diagnose a misfire and loosing power when engine reaches operating temperature The first time we brought it in, it displayed fault codes and were told they could not find anything wrong with it? Codes usually tell you at one time there was. So we were charged around $75 and nothing resolved. When it happened again shortly after, they said bring it in and leave it with them and should be no charge to go over the diagnoses, wrong as we were charged double and still no answer to the issue telling us this time there was an oil pressure issue that wasn't there before and that needed to be addressed first. When I asked how they checked that the oil pressure was low , they said the scanner showed it? [ no actual print out to confirm this so when I ask if they did a follow up to confirm this using a oil pressure master gauge or do a freeze frame with the scanner they then saw I was not just a naive customer and totally ignored me or discussed things any further. Guess what, we have driven this truck many kilometers since and the engine hasn't blown or quit, just the same issue when warm. and we are out of pocket over $ 200 for no answers or explanation. I always like to give local small businesses .support and recommend people their way but not when being ripped off. When it comes to diagnosing in the modern automotive world , you need someone that can go beyond pulling up codes and assuming. BTW just to let you all know I am a retired master tech over 45 years, so I do know what I am talking about..
