I’m not one to leave reviews when I am not pleased with a service. As a small business owner, I always appreciate when a customer comes to me when they aren’t happy with something to give me the opportunity to make it right before they publicly make it known. I also understand we are all human and make mistakes - so, I always shy away from a bad review. In saying that, when you have repeatedly gone to someone and expressed concern and they have been rude and unwilling to comply, I feel as though I’m left with no other choice. We left the program in early October because it wasn’t a right fit for out family. I don’t think everything works for everybody and that’s ok! It just didn’t work for us. After withdrawing we reached out for a refund. I thought it was a fair request because of the short time we were registered, and the little amount (next to nothing) we utilized it. We got the run around from the program for weeks. When we finally got a hold of the director of the program, the way the conversation was handled was beyond poor in every sense. Phrases such as “You think money is tight for you?! We might be going bankrupt!” were his reasoning as to why he wouldn’t be refunding us. In the end, after going back and forth and him refusing to budge the entire conversation, he finally said “Fine, I’ll give you your refund, but just know that you are stealing an education from another child.” His behaviour literally still has be speechless. He requested our receipt for the refund and after supplying it, we received a refund for half the amount of our registration fee. Half of the refund was never discussed or agreed upon, yet, when my husband emailed him questioning it, he blatantly lied and said that a 50% refund is what they agreed to on the phone. Unfortunately, because it was a phone conversation, we have no proof to fight back, and he knows that. I highly do not recommend this program solely based on the interactions we had with Dave. I’m so disappointed that he thinks the behaviour he displayed is acceptable of someone in his position. It’s a shame.

Such a fantastic experience with online learning! The teachers are caring and want to help your child in any way they can. Great communication between the faculty and parents. Definitely would recommend Flex ED!

After one month of being with flex ed, we are done. My children are burntout.  There is no breathing room - and the assignments they have these children doing are beyond me. Even in university I never had such a workload with unreasonable due dates - and they expect children to meet these expectations. Save your child's mental health and your money and go elsewhere. Flexed you need to do better

Please do not send your children to flex Ed. I was a student in the flex program for my grade 11 year. It was the worst school experience of my life. A few points about Flex Ed: 1. Communication. There is ZERO communication amongst the school. Half of us didn’t have our log in information a few days after school started. It seemed like none of my teachers had any idea what was going on half the time. I don’t know exactly how to explain it, but the whole organization was a mess. 2. The technology sucks. All the quizzes are basically broken. They would mark you wrong when you gave the right answer. On top of that, my teachers couldn’t go in and fix the marks. You’d think that a program that has been around for a decade would have figured out their technology. The entire school was running on flash when I started. (I KNOW) When that went under last year, none of us could access the school whatsoever while they completely switched to a new system. The new program was broken and did not work. 3. The teachers have WAY too many students. I never got the help I needed because certain teachers would take weeks to reply to any of my emails. One of my teachers never responded to me at all until I complained to the principal. They constantly complained about having too many students to mark so for some of my classes I wouldn’t receive any feedback until basically it was time for report cards. 4. I cannot even explain how frustrating it is to be so behind in school. I am a student that has maintained a constant average of 98%. Even for me, understanding their garbage lessons was so difficult. I basically learnt nothing all year. Half of the information was blatantly wrong, and it seemed like no one actually proof read the lessons. For the first time in my life, I feel behind in school this year. I have had to re teach myself information that flex tried to teach me, but did a horrible job. 5. The workload is so unrealistic. I worked CONSTANTLY. I had no free time trying to keep up with my four classes. They would give you 4-5 page essays to finish in a day. I was miserable. From talking to other flex students, the feeling was mutual. Everyone was depressed and overworked. It was the worst school year of my life. To summarize, just do not send your children to flex Ed. Unless you really hate your child, I guess.
