First Aid Hero

I had the opportunity to work with Marla in 2015 when living in Vancouver. I've had several friends work for her and we used her business to run a babysitting course at the elementary school. Nonetheless, it was a horrible experience. All the parents and principals wanted to meet her in person and she refused to meet (we wanted to know who would be coming and be around our children), she persisted that her instructors went under criminal record checks (they did not). When an instructor did not show up, she told us it was our problem that we did not communicate properly about the location (when we in fact did). She held our money and made us reschedule to another date when we said that we were just going to organize this with another company and demanded a refund. I know several people that have worked for this company and all have had negative experiences. She constantly withholds pay from employees for frivolous reasons (not reporting back the number of books left, showing up late) despite employees needing money to live (rent, travel to work, keeping up to date on certifications). She also asks her employees for personal favours (like storing her placenta pills) or tasks (picking up books or dropping off material for other instructors) WITHOUT additional pay. Employment with her is precarious employment for anyone and it is a complete roller coaster ride. She has violated the ESA numerous times but threatens that instructors can't do anything about it because of her pay structure. Seriously, do not work for this company or hire it. Though they do seem organized and legit, it is an absolute nightmare because she is not physically in Vancouver running her business. She runs her business from out of the country after losing a court battle over the custody of her child, where her lawyer deemed her not fit for parenting and refused to defend her.

My daughter was very happy with what she learned in the online course. She feels much more confident when looking after children now! I was happy that she made good use of a pro-D day!!!

My daughter and her three friends recently attended the babysitting course workshop led by First Aid Hero. I was thankful to find a workshop in a face-to-face environment with careful attention to social distancing and sanitization standards. My daughter had a blast at the course and learned important skills to prepare her as she enters the babysitting world. She had her manual open the next morning to help bandage a minor burn accident while making breakfast - glad to see her knowledge in action! Thank you for providing a safe, engaging learning experience for my daughter.

The lessons offered here are perfect! My daughter learned a lot in class (online) and found it interesting and fun. She was so excited about what she learned that she would practice babysitting every night after her class. I feel more confident in her ability to babysit safely and with better skills. Thank you!

My daughter really enjoyed the online babysitter’s course! The instructor was excellent and kept her engaged the entire six hours. She was so proud to receive her Certificate of Completion today in the mail! I feel like this course adequately prepared her to begin her first job babysitting young children. I highly recommend this training.
