Might be my favourite new brewery in the Kingston area. Great craft beer (especially love the Tiptoe IPA), friendly and knowledgeable staff, also well priced.

The delivery guy came back a second time after we couldn’t make it to the door the first time. Amazing customer service! And the beer is fantastic!

So I've been wondering what the hype was about the new brewery in town was....so I ordered a few and had them delivered. I was left wondering when the delivery was going to arrive as I didn't receive any notices. It arrived late saturday afternoon which was fine, and it was a drop and leave. I ordered three different beer and one out of the three were worth the money. Precipice is the NZ pilsner and it was dynamite, the hops were front and centre and the pilsner flavour was crisp. Big ear, Little ear is their French Saison which was decent, but definitely not something I could or would recommend to friends especially at $3.10 for 335 ml. The third offering was Light Hazy Pale Ale and it wasn't good at all, it definitely had some good potential. When you bring it up to have a sip you get a great whiff of hops, the initial taste is smooth and slightly hoppy, but the after taste killed it for me. I got a wet cardboard after taste which is indicative of an oxidized beer. This happens from time to time at breweries, but when I am paying a premium price I expect a premium product/beer. I am disappointed in their beer and I hope it can be chalked up to growing pains. ************************************************************ REVISION - DEC 14/20 - Rating changed from 3 to 4 stars ************************************************************ So I've been given another opportunity to try two more Fine Balance offerings, one of which I just tried and the other I will try another day. But after trying Half Moon the Fruited Berliner Weisse I am pleasantly surprised. It has a touch of sulphur when you take a sip, which is quickly followed up by a slight tartness and fruit flavour....a great beer!

Bad service. My wife waited at the front counter to order a beer for 10 minutes while the lady at the bar chatted with folks at the retail counter. We decided to sit and wait, and finally a guy came out from the back. My wife went back to the counter, and he ignored her and returned to the back. When the lady at the retail counter finished chatting she ignored my wife and helped another lady who just walked in. After 15 minutes of being ignored, we gave up and left. On a positive note, there's plenty of great craft beer in Kingston at other breweries (Daft, Skeleton Park, Spearhead) so check those out.

The hype is real. Amazing beer, amazing people behind it all, free delivery (in Kingston) for orders over $20. Whenever I run out of Oats and Cream IPA I get nervous. If you're a craft beer lover and you haven't tried Fine Balance yet ..... get on it ;)
