★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was the best adventure of my life. A bird scientist, a whale scientist, and big Rob full of the comprehensive history of the place. The crew was so competent and so warm. Dave Hahn with his climbing adventures was entrancing, especially his story of Shackleton’s crossing of South Georgia in the night. Whales, penguins, elephant seals. Champagne at Shackleton’s grave on South Georgia. Eighteen years ago, and never to be forgotten. Thanks, Dave German.
