Our Possibility
Imagine for a moment if family members could confidently communicate, in respectful language, with their parents, siblings, and peers. Imagine if parents modelled effective ways of problem-solving with their children in ways that build self-esteem. What would be possible for future generations if we placed as much emphasis on developing the skills and competencies of cooperation, as we currently do on individual achievement? Imagine how well society would function if this was the normal way of being.

β β β β β Families Matter has been a lifeline for our family. We have made many meaningful connections with other families. They offer many parenting courses for all stages. When I came to the centre with my newborn and two preschoolers, Margie and Janice would either entertain the older ones so I could feed the newborn, or hold the newborn so I could engage with my older two. Highly recommended.

β β β β β Families Matter have amazing things for kids. From cooking classes to wellness kits, they have gone above and beyond for these programs. Their contact Jordan is easy to get in touch with and super nice. Highly recommend this societyβs kids programs.

β β β β β This is probably the best resource for families in Calgary. They have fantastic supports for families and parents that are having challenges. They have great programming for kiddos and parents together as well as parents on their own. The diversity of the ways that this organization can support all kinds of families in all kinds of stages is outstanding. I also love how what my kiddo learns, what I learn, and what my husband learns from here is entirely research and proven theory based. My family wouldn't be as healthy as we are without Families Matter ???

β β β β β Great option for moms trying to get their kids out of the house. Their space was great offering messy play options. They also provided snack for all the children and had tea and coffee for the moms. I almost wish they had more hours for the drop in like on weekends in the winter where you don't know where else to take your kids.

I love that they took the challenge of the pandemic and built themselves up to be better abled to offer assistance and support to families. By offering many of their programs on ZOOM, families are still able to connect with each other and the great resources offered by this organization. Whether it be a story time class, Messy Fingers or a parenting class, Families Matter has options for all of Calgary's (and surrounding communities) families.

β β β β β An invaluable resource for our family. They have supported us in multiple ways over the course of last 4 years, when we would visit the play centre before the pandemic, or lately in classes over Zoom. I highly recommend all of their services.

β β β β β Great programs for kids, and for parents. I just wished they offered some classes in more locations than just one, and were able to offer more classes as spots sells out very fast. Family Matters is definitely a charity worth funding, for all the precious helps it gives to families. Their workers are friendly, and non-judgemental. Family Matters will be one of my few good memories about life in Calgary. For.post-partum,.they are definitely more usefull, and more efficient than ahs.
