Ethos Bridal - Calgary

Not impressed by the customer service after the store received my payment for my daughter’s dress. There was no phone call after alterations to say the dress was ready, good thing we called 1 month prior. The alterations themselves put on another few bob so why poor service? If I’m spending that sort of money I expect proper service. As it was we received the re-alterations at David’s bridal and they called to say the dress could be fixed for less and that it was ready. Ethos might be an older establishment but it really isn’t better…..except the watered down champagne and half chocolate.

I went to ethos bridal for my dress and they were amazing and so helpful, but when it came to purchasing my dress things started to go south. Being a first time bride I’ve obviously never done this before and am unfamiliar with the process. After trying the dress on and purchasing/ ordering it I went home to look at the receipt and realized the dress size she ordered for me was an 8 even tho the dress I tried on at the store was a 6 and fit very well. At all the stores I’ve been prior I was told I would need a size 4 maybe a 6 so I was shocked to see an 8 on the page. I called and she reassured me that that was the size for me. Even tho she never once measured me to make sure it would fit. Months later when I received my dress and then took it back in for alterations at ethos, the seamstress there was shocked how big it was on me and said it needs a lot of taking in…. Then when it came to paying for the alterations the bill was almost $1000.00. I was floored because $500 of that was all to take in the top that was massive on me. My dress cost $1800… the alterations are more then half of what my dress cost! I feel completely taken advantage of because I trusted them to get my size right and I feel like she didn’t take the time to even measure me to make sure I would have a dress as close as possible to my actual size. In street clothes I’m a size 2-4 so a dress size 8 even in a wedding dress seems outrageous. I expected to get alterations done but no where near as much as I ended up needing to get. Please other brides insist on them measuring you no matter what! Don’t blindly trust them! Get them to measure you and compare your measurements to the dress sizes. Especially if you go to ethos! The women I had said she’s being doing it for 50 years so I thought she knew what she was doing. I take full responsibility for not asking more questions but I didn’t know what I had to ask and was too trusting which was my bad. Hope this saves other brides from being in my situation. Weddings are already expensive and we don’t need bridal stores squeezing us out of more money.

I dont even know where to start as a bride and how incredible my experience was here. My sister booked the appointment and the moment I walked into this bridal shop .. maybe not shop.. boutique. I was blown away by the how welcomed they made me feel. They didn't act like I was just another person. They did such an incredible job of showing me every single dress and helped in the change room and honestly went above and beyond. It was the experience that every bride wants to feel when trying to find the perfect dress. The 2 women that helped me were absolutely incredible and I wish nothing but the best for them, because without their help and complete devotion I wouldn't have found the perfect dress. 100% would recommend to every bride I know.

This was the most amazing experience I've ever had at a store. Lori was incredible, she picked so many gorgeous dresses based on what I expressed I was looking for! We found my wedding dress without issue, and they popped champagne for myself and my friends! They have the sweetest tradition here when you find your dress that made me cry such happy beautiful tears. I was blessed to have such an amazing experience curated to myself and my dreams. I can't wait for my second fitting and to marry the man who makes every single dream come true without effort! Thank you again to everyone at Ethos who helped me find my dress, fit it and bring me to the happiest day ahead!

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Lori was my bridal consultant she was so nice and helped me look for the dress style I was going for. She was very patient and helpful! Jamie was also very sweet and helped me by giving me her expert opinion on modifications I can do with the dress I liked. Lori and Jamie were both very sweet and kind. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend Ethos Bridal to all brides for an overall amazing experience in choosing a special wedding dress.

I had the best experience buying my wedding dress at Ethos! Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming! I was able to find the dress I had envisioned from the sample sale rack for under $600. While trying on dresses, the sales associate helped me immensely and was extremely friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Once I chose my dress, we were brought champagne and chocolate to celebrate (something I hadn’t seen at other boutiques and I thought it was a great touch). Really loved my experience here and would definitely recommend checking out Ethos!

Staff were very welcoming! Lori was our consultant and she was able to pull dresses that I was excited to try. Although there were not many within my budget, the dresses we did find were easily customized allowing me to feel like I had my own unique gown. They gave me a price for alterations right away. We celebrated with champagne and chocolate. Such a fun shopping experience!

Lori, and all of the women working were phenomenal. They really listened to what I liked and didn’t like about the dresses that I tried on and brought other suggestions that were great. I was really impressed by their customer service and professionalism. It was quick to book my appointment and they were very responsive by both email and by phone. Parking in the area isn’t great as it is on 17th ave, I would recommend leaving yourself some extra time for that.
