I have always been taught that feedback is a gift. That we learn from feedback and can put it to good use in our future. So I hope that Jonathan can learn from my feedback and have happy clients in the future. I am very disappointed in my first ever realtor experience. I do want to start by saying that I have never left a 1-star review before. But I feel my only recourse in this sub-par interaction is to give negative feedback. This was my first purchase ...ever. I was looking to buy my dream cottage. I rent in Ontario and am 32 years old. This was a major lifetime achievement for me and I had pulled together ALL my money to get this done. I had been trying to make this sale on my own and it wasn't getting very far. I was recommended to Jonathan via good friends of mine (who I have now asked to never refer him again) and I'll admit it was my mistake to only take a recommendation without doing my own research or without asking for references. I do have some good things to say about this experience but all in all the majority of my feedback and the tone of my review is negative. And I do not recommend Jonathan to you based off my personal/ own experience. Which is the point of a Google Review. First and foremost my short tl;dr is if you're new to buying and need someone proactive who will educate you and truly be excited for you he's not the realtor for you. If you do not have care about who your realtor is and your expectations are low, then he can get the job done. I feel like Jonathan was not worth the money I spent. The work he did was perhaps worth, 0.25%, not 2%. I found to him, I found the property, I did a lot of work on my own time. He made assumptions that I knew things and I always had to ask to have things explained. I also will admit I don't know what the norm is. But I really felt like he was always burdened by me or my questions. I felt rushed, I did not feel proactively educated, I had to ask SO many questions to ensure I knew what was going on. I don't think he was a good negotiator. I think he was not engaged or interested in my purchase at all, when it started going on too long you could tell he was checked out. He said "I THINK" a lot, he did not seem to know a lot about cottages either. He LOVED to blame other people. The seller, the mortgage broker (who was the most helpful person in this entire process). He made errors in my final purchase price and instead of fixing it, wanted me to sign it and send me an e-transfer for the difference since he had left the office already... He forgot to send my deposit to the notary which we all know mistakes happen but when I asked him what happened or what the norm was he sent a VERY offensive text where he jumped to a hurtful conclusion that I was accusing him of stealing my $3000 deposit. This was SO hurtful that I had to take a day off work I was so upset and I wish I could have just fired him. He also had me sign the final offer stating that we had financing approved when we did not yet have financing. Putting me at a huge risk, making me liable for the sale price, with or without financing. I bet any money he will have this review removed, or text me or email me to complain about this review. Or rebuttal and argue my view of this. But this was my personal view of how this went and that is the best I can offer.  And even though he was nice, dropped his rate .5%, and got the job done and tolerated all my questions...... All the crap I had to deal with makes none of the good stuff even worth mentioning. Also, to top it off, after finalizing the sale and completing the transaction I got a very forced and very unauthentic "congratulations" email. For someone buying their first property, I expected more. You could tell it was forced and just sent in good measure. I hope I never have to deal with Jonathan again. I REALLY hope he uses my $6000+ I paid him to take a course in customer service. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. And I hope you find a professional realtor elsewhere.

I chose Team Doucet to sell my home for very simple reasons. When I met with Jacques, he's the only realtor who told me the truth about my home. He did a very good appraisal of my house and he sold it in 2 weeks. I got more than I was asking for. Thanks Jacques for all of your help!
