I was a client for 8 years. Called Monday because of a sore on my dog's paw. Told a 4 week wait. Thank God I took her to the Peterborough Emergency Vet, as they diagnosed her with cancer and had to amputate part of her paw. Had I waited 4 weeks, it would have proven fatal. I have found a new vet whose wait time is just a few days,. not 4 weeks

We lived in Campbellford for almost 9 years and used English Line Veterinary for many years of us living there, was always impressed with their care, compassion and professionalism. We moved away and of course used other vets closer to us. Last week our German shepherd got sick and I tried to get her into the vet closer to us but wasn't able to so called English line and got an appointment Thursday. This was the place where she was spayed so had no problems with her going back because I assumed it was still the same great place. But I was wrong unfortunately, the vet we had didn't have good beside manner and wasn't good with a dog that is apprehensive of new people or surroundings. Even tho our dog got treated for the issue felt so disappointed in the whole experience for us and our dog. Felt judged as dog owners and let down by a place we had so much faith in for such a long time. This place had a really good vet at one time (Dr. Leslie Scott) she put down many of our pets for us when it was time and old age took over and never made us feel the way we did last week. I hate to give it a 2 star rating but this experience wasn't a good one and more could of been done on their part to ensure we were still valued as clients, not have it turned into oh we haven't seen your dog since 2016 and pushing vaccines on us without even knowing if we got her vaccines somewhere else since we were there last. It was rude and uncalled for and this was a place that we had considered more about the pets than about the money. Just want others to be aware of the semi retired locum vet they have working there as she could be more compassionate and caring with all pet owners not just a select few. Also be aware, during this pandemic you won't be allowed in the clinic with your pet either which can be a little traumatic for your pet and you. Dr. Al is great and the rest of the staff is great too just unfortunately we didn't get him this day and ended up with a vet that we weren't happy with.

When I moved to this area six years ago I had to leave behind the vet that I had dealt with for more than 20 years. I never though that I would find another that I would be as happy with, but then I discovered English Line. The vets and staff are amazing, very caring and accommodating. So glad I found them as I know my fur babies will be well cared for.

I had a really horrible experience with them! That’s why I’m going to VCA now. My dog had a pea sized tumor on his leg, EL looked at it and said that it had to be removed because it was likely cancer. They didn’t aspirate a sample or cut a piece for biopsy. We said OK, let’s do it. They told us that they couldn’t do it for 2 months. They also said that we shouldn’t wait that long! They gave us no referrals, nothing. We found VCA in Colborne and they removed it the next morning. Turned out to be benign, and likely from whacking his leg while running in the woods. English Line was our vet, this wasn’t a cold call. Beware.
