We direct our community investments to communities that fall within our service area, which extends throughout northern Ontario from the Manitoba border, through southwestern Ontario to Windsor and across eastern Ontario to Ottawa. Like many organizations, we receive numerous funding requests and in order to make a significant impact on our communities, we have a focused giving program.

β β β β β In January '20 to March '20 there was a mysterious flu-like illness that swept through the Enbridge Gretna, MB Line 1 site. I remember that it spread amongst the MasTec Canada contractor employees like wildfire and had all the markings of Covid-16 symptoms in hindsight (we called it the Corona-Kyle disease after the 1st person that more than likely brought it). The thing that I remember most about the illness was the coughing, I would cough and cough and cough until I couldn't cough anymore, nearly pass out and then cough some more...such a dry cough too. On site we would go days without soap in the washrooms and during these times we would sometimes run out of hand sanitizer, which helped with the amazing spread. Their Path to Zero program definitely failed us here. Worst site I've ever been on...in my life.

β β β β β Abandoned one pipeline to immediately go to make another, it passes 227 bodies of water and is detrimental to the climate crisis. Could transport tar sands through different methods, but dead set on breaking Treatys and ruining our water.

β β β β β This company is killing our environment, poisoning our water supply, breaking treaties and endangering the food supplies and livelihoods of indigenous peoples, contributing to corporate fascism and every single pipeline they build is guaranteed to fail. WATER IS LIFE.

β β β β β Enbridge is a Canadian company that is currently extracting tar sands oil, which is easily the worst type of oil to have impact on our environment, from the United States. This pipeline is I believe complete or nearly complete as Iβm writing this. This Line 3 has already leaked multiple times, and is going through over 200 different bodies of water, and affecting a lot more. They have bought thousands of gallons of water in areas of serious Drought. WE CANNOT DRINK OIL!

β β β β β In May of 2021, We sold our house in St. Π‘atherines and moved to Calgary, since then I have been chasing a reimbursement, originally due from Enercare, but the account was with Enbridge so the reimbursement had to be paid through Enbridge. The entire saga has been really difficult, we have made numerous telephone calls to both Enbridge and Enercare, they tell us the cheque is being forwarded to us, never arrives, another call to Enbridge, the cheque is forthcoming, never arrives, another call, to Enbridge, they say they will do e-mail transfer, money never arrives, I called again this morning, (November 26-21) now they tell me they need approval before they can send us the money, so it NEVER was being mailed or e-mailed, we were told a bunch of lies for the past 6 months. I think this is really disgusting of any corporation to lie and withhold our money, I assume to collect the little bit of interest that they can from keeping it. I can tell you if it was the other way around and we owed money to them, they would be sending bill collectors and cutting off our gas. What a despicable way to treat people!
