HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY -- June 1st, 2022

Every year, we operate a Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste Collection Day. In 2022 it will be held on Wednesday June 1st between 11:00am and 7:00pm. This allows residents to drop off all hazardous materials that should not be disposed of during our weekly curbside garbage collection program or the clean up week.
Used tires can be disposed of at several locations around town - Canadian Tire, OK Tire, Choice Tire and Top Tech.
Used paint cans can be brought to Home Hardware in Blind River.
Old household batteries can be brought to City Hall or Public Works Department.

EL Handy Lift can drive through normally, but EL transit is crazy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Other than the one driver who races around town like it was the Indianapolis 500, the transit drivers are friendly and courteous. For the one fast driver, driving slower for your mostly senior passengers, some of whom have mobility and health issues, riding in comfort is considered being courteous and caring.
