About Eko Pley Preschool
I have Early Childhood Education from the University of Calgary, Alberta Child Care Certification and an International Montessori Teaching Diploma. I also hold a City of Calgary Police clearance and Red Cross First Aid. I have been teaching in Montessori and play based preschools since 2011. I opened my own eclectic blend of both in the fall of 2017. Operating out of my home in the community of Evergreen. I am passionate about early childhood education and touching the lives of young children. As a mother of 2 children I know first hand the importance of the sensitive years up to age 6. Habits and learning attitudes are developed at a young age and inspire them for success in life. Encouraging children to think for themselves in a creative enriched environment is paramount for early childhood development.

Both of my kids attended school with the wonderful teacher at Eko, the experience was amazing, very organized, structured, fun, clean, integrative and with good values, always encouraging kids to improve or do better. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karen at Eko Pley has made pre-school the most wonderful experience for us, and for our daughter. Our daughter is only 3 and she has been going to the preschool for a few months now and has learnt SO MUCH! She goes about her daily tasks with intention now, and is far more interested in the world around her. Karen takes the time to focus on monthly subjects and topics, and teaches the kids subjects they may learn in school. She helps them write their names and takes them outside almost everyday. The space itself is tidy and clean, and completely separate from the rest of the house. I have been absolutely blown away by my daughters growth since joining this school, and Karen has been an absolute blessing. She genuinely cares about the students and I honestly don't have enough good things to say. Thank you Karen, and thank you Eko Pley Preschool!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My daughter is really enjoying attending Eko Pley! She asks me every day if she has school the next day, she is always excited to go and see her friends and Mrs. Oyelese! I can already see the improvements in her learning and fine motor skills and it’s only been less than half a year. I really enjoy getting pictures from her time at school, and the monthly newsletter helps us know what she’s working on at school to continue the conversations at home. It has been an interested time attending schools during COVID and Mrs. Oyelese has worked hard to ensure that everyone is safe and healthy so that we can continue to attend school.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been with Eko Pley for about 4 months now and both my daughter and I love it there. It’s very clear that Karen adores the kids and they just love her. I really like how they get outside as much as possible when weather allows and how involved Karen allows the children to be in her own garden and greenhouse. One of my daughters favourite thing was bringing home cherry tomatoes at the end of class and making homemade apple sauce with apples from the backyard. We can’t recommend Elo Pley enough!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karen has given our son so many wonderful skills to prepare him in many ways for Kindergarten. She helps him develop in a subjects but also helps develop his personality so he can be his best in social situations. Her care and attention to all aspects of her school is amazing. One of my favorite things is how tactile and playful learning is including gardening in the spring and harvesting in the fall from a garden in her backyard. I highly recommend Eko Pley.
