DARREN EDDIE, P.ENG.
Darren was born in Manitoba and grew up in Winnipeg. He had relatives located in Southern and Western Manitoba which he visited regularly in his youth.
When Darren finished high school, he entered directly into the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba. He decided to specialize in Civil Engineering as his interests lie mostly in the construction and design of structures. After completing the Civil Engineering program with receipt of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil), Darren had the opportunity to continue on to complete his Master of Science at the University of Manitoba. By completing studies and experiments in the Structural Engineering Laboratory funded by ISIS Canada, a Network of Centers of Excellence, Darren gained specialized knowledge of high-tech monitoring and testing of structures.
Darren worked with a Winnipeg firm on many large and small scale projects while registered as an EIT (Engineer in Training) prior to full registration as a P. Eng. (Professional Engineer). Upon moving to Dauphin, Darren realized that rural Manitoba was lacking the support for Engineered design and drafting services and began his company, D.M. Eddie Engineering. He believes in providing services in a timely and cost effective fashion and in educating the public to the need and benefits of professional services.
