★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have used them several times 2013-2016 and I paid membership to EORC for a year at $1in 2016 to attend their AGM in 2016 and 2017 to discuss a few issues with some of the management. You have to become a member at least 30 days before in order to vote.
1) The waitlist for day program was pretty bad at 10 months in 2015/2016 and by the time we were offered a spot, we was getting ready to help our parents to move to another part of the city.
2) The quality of the kitchen for their Meals on Wheels delivery is out of St. Louis residence for the most part and it is not that great. My parents tried to quit after 6 months and I persuaded them to continue to 12 and 18 months on a very reduced schedule and they put their foot down at 18 months. Admitted it has been a couple of years at least since they last ordered but at the AGM last year I voice the issue and they said they are trying to improve it.
For their advertised counselling, I was referred to Catholic Family Service. I requested telephone assurance and friendly visiting for my parents and was told they do not have enough volunteers and my parents would be low on the list and would not get it and likely only people who live alone would. Going home service offered by CCAC at the time and contracted out to EORC was excellent since they sent someone very good. We had not personally used their transport services but known others who have and they were very happy with it.
Overall a good resource and some services but some area could be improved.
