Amazing little spot! Quick walk to the water and some spectacular views. Well maintained paths, washrooms as well. Limited parking.

Great park for hiking. It has a 10km (very rugged) trail around the coastline and a number of places to loop back through the forest so you can go anywhere from 2km to 20km. Great ocean views on a rocky coastline with some small gravel and sand inlets. It was very quiet when we visited in late April 2013. Didn't expect to find such nice semi-wilderness hiking so close to Victoria.

Fantastic park. Never too busy, especially on the far side. Strongly recommend a hike to the old mines.

Great place to go with a small child. From the parking lot is a flat path that goes almost all the way to the beach. The final bit isn't flat but it's pretty tame. Picture included. The beach is great fun to explore during low tide. The hike around to Pike's Peak is about the tops of what we like to do with a two year old on our back. But if you get going that way and feel like you're not comfortable you can just turn back without feeling like you've missed much. Went at the end of February so it was a little muddy but didn't feel like we were going to slide off into the sea.

The beach has an almost “deserted island” quality particularly on a weekday morning. During low tide it’s a fantastic photoshoot location as the beach opens right up.

The train in this park varies from wide open and wheel accessible to areas where you need to scramble up rocky trail sections pulling yourself up by your hands. This is a fabulous place to watch the waves crash upon the shore and to look out for whales and boats going by.

If you want to do a very easy 1.6km stroll... on a beautifully groomed flat and wide gravel pathway... which takes you to a secluded emerald green bay with a beach access island that you can climb up onto when the tide is out... then this is it! Two large parking lots to accommodate the busy sunny summer weekend crowds. But if you want the beach to yourself, go on weekdays in the spring and fall fringe seasons. A highly recommended little piece of paradise (see my review pics and video below).
