Dykstra Knight Roofing & Renovations

I hired Dykstra Knight to re-shingle my roof on a recommendation from someone who's opinion I trust. He recommended them for their the quality of their workmanship and for their honesty throughout the process of delivering quotes and charging for extra work. He did warn me though that they were likely the most expensive option and the most likely to be overbooked. It turns out that they were booked until late into the season by the time I requested a quote (May) but they were also, by a wide margin, the cheapest professional outfitter to quote me. The quote I received was for all the required work and not more. I should say that my experience might be biased by a contractor who tried to quote me at $1,000 above Dykstra Knight's price. His quote was also for both incomplete work (did not agree that pipe flashing should be replaced) and work I did not need (tried to suggest that my roof ventilation needed to be remodeled which was flatly wrong). I had the opportunity to watch the workers on the roof a couple times on the day of and (a) it took four workers less than 8 hours to finish a roof covering an area over 1000 square feet and (b) from what I could see, the underlayment was being done right. Once I received the quote it was exactly the agreed price with no charge for replacing plywood. I was happy to pay for quality, insured, and warrantied work.

Dykstra Knight roofers updated our roof last spring and we couldn’t be happier! Their hardworking crew was in and out within 2 days, leaving us with a beautiful high quality roof. The staff was kind and professional, and did a great cleanup afterwards. Strongly recommend!

Shingles were removed and replaced in one day . They showed up on the day and time that we were quoted. Crew was very courteous and polite. Roof looks great. Yard was cleaned up before we got back home. Thanks for the great work.

Dykstra Knight Roofing did a high quality job replacing the shingles on our house and garage. The hardworking crew was done in a day, and the workers were very respectful. They took the time at the end of the day to make sure the yard was clean and the job was done right! We will definitely call Dykstra Knight and suggest them to family and friends again!

Excellent workmanship, professional service and they are very quick to work. We had issues with some leaking vents and the team at Dykstra Knight was very quick to respond to ensure we weren't left with water damage. The crew cleaned up after them selves, it's like they were never here! Except now my roof is in top shape.

Dykstra Knight Roofing did a great job replacing the shingles on our roof. From the initial call and quick quote, to the final moments of the job they were friendly, hard working and professional. Our roof took a week to complete with the crew working full days. The weather wasn't great during the job, and they worked carefully to ensure the "under" roof was never exposed to the rain (and snow). The clean-up was very good. Our roof looks beautiful with its new shingles. I would hire them again, and recommend them for your roofing job without hesitation.

An overall poor experience from Dykstra Knight Roofing. Our property management company engaged Dykstra to send a crew member to inspect, provide feedback and repair the leak to the roof accurately. When I had inspected the quality of the work once completed by walking on the roof and in the attic it was very obvious that the repairman did not accurately repair the holes to the roof. It would have been beneficial if the company took the time to truly inspect and suggest to myself the best means of repair so that we could have a safe winter at the property. This was not the case as the repairman quickly applied some caulking (photo attached) to an area, wiped his hands clean and the company invoiced me for the "work." I had re-inspected, found the holes and provided photos to the owner the company stating that this should be repaired immediately to ensure that the holes (originally discussed) were accurately repaired. The owner had mentioned the crew would go to re-visit and fix the holes that I had found basically doing their job for them. I had anticipated that this would be done immediately but it wasn't until a recent rainfall that my tenants had informed me that the roof was leaking again! As much as I enjoy staying on top of tradesmen there is some degree of responsibility that they should have to actually complete the work. I should not have to chase them to ensure that a hole in the roof is repaired before the next large rainfall after already climbing the roof to show them what a poor job the repairman did. At this point I've engaged another crew to repair the roof, subsequent damages to the living room ceiling were made after this poor repair and I've asked for a refund where i've been told that this is their standard service fee. Regardless of your standard fee if you've done a poor job fix it, credit your dissatisfied customer back and sort the issue promptly. Do not tell people "you're on the schedule." Show some urgency! Extremely disappointing. Please stick to new roofs.

AMAZING service!! Had 5 of our rental properties with leaking roofs within one week and Dykstra was on site super-quick. Cleared off all affected areas. Provided before & after pictures. Everyone at this company is very professional and you can tell they genuinely care. Very reasonable prices too. We also use them for new roof installs during Spring/Summer. Highly recommend!
