Steer away from their rental units, their rental process is not transparent and seemed very biased (couldn't find a justification for how they handled my case but I really hope this not in any shape or form some kind of racial profiling going on behind the scene). They posted an ad on Craigslist on Friday at 3pm regarding a rental in DT Victoria, I've sent them an email within couple hours and sent another message via their website (office was closed so I wasn't waiting for any answer until Monday Morning). Saturday morning I downloaded the application form, filled out all my info and provided my references and proof of income and every detail about me and emailed it to their rental team in hopes to speed up the process so that by Monday morning when office resumes they would contact me for viewing. I called the office Monday morning to ensure that my application and request for viewing the unit was received, the receptionist told me that the showing team does not answer phone calls but rather they will review my email and respond promptly. Monday afternoon I got an email response from their showing coordinator Courtney Corr who informed that they have enough people to show the unit to and that they don't accept applications without showing the unit. She asked me to check with them Wednesday Afternoon to see if it was still available. Wednesday afternoon, I followed up with Courtney via email, as told, then to my surprise she said sorry but we have enough applications on hand to process so we're not showing it any further. I'm puzzled because I did everything possible to view/apply for this unit in a very prompt manner but got turned down for viewing and for even processing my application. Why can't they at least accept my application for processing without me viewing the unit (I've already seen the pictures and it's good enough for me). The only explanation I found is racial profiling because I've sent my initial request only few hours after they posted their ad then Saturday noon they had my application and Monday afternoon got turned down for viewing and refused to accept my application for processing. Lastly, to confirm that there is something fishy going on behind the scene, the same day (Wednesday) when I followed up with Courtney and she said that they're no longer going to show it to other people, the ad on Craigslist was updated so that it shows at the top of the ad list just an hour before her email response. I've dealt with other rental companies, this is by far the worst due to their lack of transparency. Other agencies, they either hold open houses or have at least a window for accepting showing requests (clearly not the case here because I've everything that I was supposed to do within very short period of time).

I have used Dutton's as both a tenant and a property owner. As a tenant, they attended to any emails/concerns/repairs very promptly. Further, they require exceptional cleanliness when you move out/move in. As a property owner, this was very comforting to know that the Dutton team would ensure my condo was as clean after my tenants left as when they moved in. I will certainly use Dutton's again if the opportunity arises.

My husband and I have dealt with Duttons for the past 12 years. We found them very friendly, professional and were happy with them as our rental agency. When we had to move (due to the owner selling our rental home), we tried to remain with Duttons, but at the time there weren't any appropriate vacancies, otherwise we would have been happy to stay with them. I've had a great experience with Dutton's property management on the rental side. I also wanted to highlight our experience with Ainsley Gower on the sales team. First Ainsley helped facilitate our rental in the precise location we wanted, and then for the next year, she visited house after house with us until we found the one. She was able to advise us in such a way that we got it for under asking, and then helped us line up all the inspectors and contractors who were able to confirm that she'd scored us a real deal.
