Ordered #24, the breakfast pizza. There was a slight confusion and mix up and I got chicken instead of the ham/bacon/sausage selection, which was a bit on the dry side. Besides that, delicious as I remember it to be. No line up to get in when I got there just before 11am but it got full shortly afterwards. No reservations required. They only seat half the tables as there's no dividers.

The Dutch Wooden Shoe cafe was owned and operated for many years by John Dys, the late founder of the De Dutch franchise. His memory still lives on in this cafe which is located in the heart of Cambie village. Decorated by John’s vast collection of beer glasses and Dutch style decor, the restaurant serves various delicious breakfast and lunch style entrees that is different from the rest of the franchise, which make it both unique and special at the same time. I just had nice brunch which included a vegetarian hash served with soft basted eggs and toasted sour dough bread. For dessert, a de dutch pannekoek served with strawberry and whipped cream topping. And off course a warm cup of coffee to start of the day.

Had Pannenkoek (Dutch Pancake) for brunch. It’s very filling and definitely need to share. Recommend their windmill pannenkoek.

You can barely find this place as it is sort of obscured but definitely a wonderful breakfast place. Small but seemingly authentic and warm, riddled with memorabilia and heritage novelty pieces. Great service and the crepes/pancakes were delightfully tasty.

This is one of my new favorite breakfast places in Vancouver! The pannekoek here is amazing! Thin, chewy, eggy pannekoek with every topping under the sun. You can literally order fried rice, chicken, pineapple, and grilled bananas on you pannekoek! It's like traditional Dutch pannekoek with fusion flavour options. I highly reccomend the Bali Bali Pannekoek which comes with fried bananas, fried rice, chicken, peanut sauce, hot sauce, and grilled pineapple with Indonesian flavours. And the quality and skill of whoever made the food is superb! The prices are also quite fair. Excellent breakfast place.

Ratings Scale 0 - 10 Variety: 9 Service or Product: 8 Customer Service: 7 Environment: 8 Cleaning: 8 Cost: 7 Quaint little place for a nice breakfast. The menu is quite large so most people should be able to find something. There are a variety of omelettes, Dutch pancakes (which are basically like crepes but a little bit thicker maybe?), Eggs benedict, French toast and more. We tried the seafood pancake and omelettes, both of which were quite good. I like that the quantity is pretty filling as well, although the seafood pancake could use a little bit more seafood. Also tried the hot chocolate which was okay, I think the milk they used was low fat so it's really thin which I do not like. Hot chocolate should be thick and creamy. But still overall a pretty decent experience. Might try the French toast next time.

This wooden shoe shouldn't be visited just because it's a classic in the neighborhood. It should be visited because they're still banging out good food! The cinnamon raisin toast was super good!

Looking for new place for brunch this morning. Was going to try out De Dutch but found this hole in the wall place. Dutch Wooden Shoe Cafe is a must to try! You won't be disappointed. First, place is pretty basic and small. But service was great! Staff was friendly, courteous and fast! Food was great. I had #24, Breakfast Pannekoek Pizza. Has everything you want including a pinnapple. See my attached picture. We also ordered meat omlette, waffles and sweet pannekeok. I rolled up my breakfast pannekoek and soaked it in syrup. Best way to have it! We'll definitely be back!
