The complimentary soup was amazing. Very rich in taste. We ordered salt and pepper squid, sweet and sour pork, salted fish fried rice and seafood fried noodle. Everything was good. The service was great with friendly staff.

Fresh seafood well cooked. Inside is pretty noisy. You need to speak loud. Price is fair.

Update January 2022: The interior has been pared down in seating capacity due to covid and it seems relatively stark but the restaurant does a rocking take out business with the community at large. It speaks to the ongoing quality of the food which is as tasty and as well prepared as ever. I still prefer dining in to enjoy the food at its best. Sadly the squab/pigeon special is no longer available. Small free parking lot. Enjoy. Dong Kee is a neighbourhood dining destination the way you want it to be - pretty darn good Cantonese food for a fair price. On my visit in November of 2019, I particularly liked the fried oysters with XO sauce and the squab/pigeon (there is a deal where you can order up to three at a special price if your other food meets the threshold price). The food came out without a long wait and service was not bad (we had Cantonese speakers at our table). The decor might not impress a date and seating capacity is small relative to other Chinese restaurants but the line ups at peak times tells you all you need to know. It's worth dining here (come early ?).

You wouldn't like it if you don't have cravings for Cantonese food. You wouldn't like it if you can't accept the fact that this place is a bit ghetto. You wouldn't like it if you can't deal with fast pace service and noisy restaurant. But you don't mind the above mentions, I have a good recommendation for you. This is my favorite place to come in summer for late night dinner with my friends. You could hear high volume conversation in every corner but when the food is up, nothing really matters. Food smells good and presentation is exactly what to expect. Just as same as the traditional Cantonese Seafood Patio style back home. I always avoid ordering the ordinary dishes whenever I come here. For you should try something you don't normally get in other Chinese restaurant. Recommend dishes are: Eel Clay pot or Eel rice(reservation only). Flatfish (Steam with scallion and soy sauce) Lobsters Any seafoods If you not driving, have a beer or two accompanies well with the above dishes! By just writing this review makes me want to revisit again.

One of my favourite Cantonese restaurants! Their dishes are sooo classic, prices are reasonable.

HK style 小炒 and ε€§ζŽ’ζͺ” restaurant. Some dishes are good, such as deep fried fish and sweet sour soup, but some just so so, such as sweet sour pork and beef fried noodles. Overall in average. You can find better choice in Markham

Crispy sweet sour pork was more fried dough than meat. But overall cooking was good by Chinese restaurant standards. Does get crowded but they turn over tables pretty quick too.

It was my first visit to Dong Kee. My family and went there for dinner on Saturday night at around 8:00pm. The waiting time was quite long. The restaurant was full house and there was a very long queue of people in the hallway waiting to be seated. Their menu had a great variety. We ordered some of the famous dishes. They were very fresh and tasty. The price and portion were reasonable. The decor of the restaurant was nothing fancy but the food was very good. The service was considered acceptable in such a busy situation. It was nice that they offered us complimentary soup and dessert. Will go back to try their fresh seafood dishes next time.
