Very much needed and very fortunate to have these Indigenous and Culturally Appropriate Protection Services for our Children and their families!

DBCFS came into our lives through our granddaughter. They have been amazing, each worker that has been involved with her has went above and beyond helping her each step of the way as she puts her young life back together and her worker Amanda has helped her with school, personal goals, securing her future finical goals by encouraging her to open a savings account and working towards saving money. I believe strongly that without DBCFS in her life and helping her she wouldn't of started on this healing and healthy journey. To each and every worker I say Miigwech Miigwech Miigwech.

The grandmother who reported us is a well known and respected elder in the native community who has repeatedly reported us. This is a huge conflict of interest and when the lady came here I told her that I would prefer to deal with the regular CAS. - (no response) Know your rights... Speak to a lawyer and don't let them push you around. Make sure you video record all interviews/interactions with the agency. Make sure they provide you with all the concerns on paper including a file/case number. Be sure to ask for a business card or identification. These people called us while we were at our mothers funeral and then showed up 2 days before christmas - they literally destroyed our holidays and lives for 45 days. And then conveniently closed the file without addressing any of our concerns. Any concerns we raised or had were quickly dismissed and never followed up on as they were not "her department". We know who made the reports and the worker confirmed this on video but later dismissed it and said the reports were anonymous. She told us that we could have a copy of all the files/reports once the case was closed. She told us to apply for a full disclosure and when we did so, we were told we only get half disclosure. The worker lied to us on numerous occasions and we have it on video. She came here and told my daughter not to listen to us, basically hide in her safe zone (bedroom) and avoid doing chores, homework and etc... Everytime the worker visited she said that there was no concerns in her eyes but would need to report back to her supervisor. Each time she would check with her supervisor, another concern would be raised. We demanded several times to have her supervisor present but she was always busy. But when the supervisor did agree to meet with us, she demanded that we not record it? Hmmm?

We are told as concerned grandparents over and over to report our concerns to the people who are supposed to protect our children. CAS. We are promised that they will help but it doesn't take long to realize that what they say are just lies! Our grandchildren have had over 30 workers in their lives. Every teacher principal, police officer, uncles and us as the grandparents have filed reports, and we get treated like the criminals for causing trouble! You are a disgrace! The blood of our grandchildren is on your hands!
