Discovery Math Saskatoon - Saskatoon
Starting lessons with a new student, we test their knowledge to identify gaps and topics that need more work. If the goal is simply to enhance school performance, we begin systematic work on curriculum, following a good textbook, covering theory, examples, and problems, with weekly assignments.
For students that excel in school-level Math and need more challenge, an advanced curriculum is chosen and followed, where more topics are covered at a deeper level, resulting in deep understanding and skill. For students inclined towards competitive math, olympiad-type problems may be are included in their classes.
Overall, taking into account that Saskatchewan Math curriculum is below international standards, we aim at reaching international grade-level Mathematical preparation with every student, and exceeding it for gifted/high-achieving individuals.
